Number One Dom(inator)

Saturday, Jul 8th, 2006 - by Michael McKeegan

Waking up at a festival site surrounded by beautiful scenery really starts the day off with a swing. Decibulles appears to be set in some kind’ve idealised ‘Jean De Florette’-esque wine valley…and the sun is a blazing down on us.

Get a bit of breakfast and hang out in the dressing room and chat with Dominique our French promoter. HeÂ’s a great guy with a lot of support for Therapy? and all the other bands he works with. We talk about our French tour later in the year and that gets us very excited about spending a fortnight exploring the country and spreading the rock.

The Mighty Dominique

Check out a bit of MASS HYSTERIA and get ready for the showÂ…ItÂ’s weird to play a gig, turn round to look at Neil and seeing rolling hills with the sun setting behind them over his shoulder. Gig is good, the onstage sound is excellent and we keep it short and tight so we donÂ’t overrun our allotted 1hr.

After we shower and have dinner before checking out Las Wampas who are excellent and get the crowd going in a big way. As night falls itÂ’s bloody freezing so we retire to the bus and the drive home(featuring immigration check at 4am and ferry at 6am). ThatÂ’s gonna hurt in the morningÂ…

Cheers France, see you in OctoberÂ…
