Dead
Story Behind The Song by Andy Cairns (Sep 3rd, 2004)
This was a chord progression and weird time signature that I put the lyrics over. They’re directed toward one particular person but could apply to any one of the shitehawks who dropped me like a ton of shite when we stopped being ‘popular’ and I couldn’t/wouldn’t help them out with gigs, drugs, backstage passes anymore.
My true friends I can count on one hand and they’ve, for the most part, been the same friends I’ve had for years. I care a lot about these people. As for the person that song’s about, if you ever read this, you know who you are. If you ever see me, cross the road.

Lyrics
We, we used to be friends
We used to give a shit about each other
That was then
This is today
You, you took my love
You took all of my trust
You took my drugs
It wasn't enough
Back in the day we thought we suffered
We didn't know each other well enough to guess how this would end
Both confused and both unknowing where we're both going
Now you're back
I thought you were dead
Dead, dead, dead
Friends, who fuckin' needs 'em?
They only let you down
They take your time
They bleed you dry
Back in the day we thought we suffered
We didn't know each other well enough to guess how this would end
Both confused and both unknowing where we're both going
Now you're back
I thought you were dead
Dead, dead, dead
You, you sold me out
You sold me out
You sold me out
Back in the day we thought we suffered
We didn't know each other well enough to guess how this would end
Both confused and both unknowing where we're both going
Now you're back
I thought you were dead
Dead, dead, dead
Dead, dead, dead, dead
