As much as i love them, for me they went downhill all the way after “siamese dream”. “Mellon collie” had a few memorable tunes, but was ultimately too few ideas stretched over too many songs.

How can they call it Smashing Pumpkins when D’arcy and James aren’t there? Surely that just leaves old cuntface and the drummer…?!

Oh no, oh wait, please tell me they aren’t going in for a White Stripes type thing…!:ek:

It’s the Double album problem.. me and my dad were talking about this yesterday there are very few double albums that have been released that couldn’t of done without some trimming down to make one great album. Physical Graffiti by Led Zep is one of the few that i think is fine as it is.

Damn right about the double album thing.*

Those of you who aren’t into Prince, think yoursleves lucky that you never had to sift through his TRIPLE CD, “Emancipation”. I think the idea was that at the end of the listening ordeal, you actually felt like a liberated slave just to be able to switch the bloody thing off…

(*this excludes Greatest Hits, which don’t really count as “albums” as they aren’t intended to be one cohesive piece of work)

? And I suppose Jimmy Chamberlain can’t make it either…?!

Any chance this could just be a Billy Corgan solo project but he knows no-one would buy it with his name plastered all over it?
