Your Favourite TV Programmes When You Were In Your Early Teens

I was bored when I thought of this thread, so forgive me. But I wondered what everybody else used to enjoy watching when they were younger.

For me the ones that stick in my memory are Dukes of Hazard (mmm Daisy Duke, mmmm), The Professionals & Monkey (You’ll be humming the theme tune for the rest of the day now, sorry, but tough :D ). I know that some of these might have be repeats, but hey we all have to start somewhere.

Squall, you saying about the chart show reminded me about Noisy Mothers - staying up until about 3.15 a.m. in the morning to watch the latest metal to be coming out!!

Some show called the passanger used to be on before that i think which was a strange one as it was meant to be a music and general cult media show… so i recall shows with blur when they weren’t big and L7 and bands like that but like after the second show it just became cheap porn to get viewers with girls finding interesting places to store bottles (i’m guessing that was what they were doing:o), with music videos and interviews shoved in now and then… very strange.. complete mystery why THAT got taken off the air??

I guess i spent my time watching things either i shouldn’t remember or for an age group above mine as i had an older brother who introduced stuff to me.

I remember “the video vault” feature on that was really good.

Probably my favourite TV show from my early teens was the X-Files. First aired when I was 12, loved it.

We didn’t have TV in my day - we all used to gather round the piano to sing UK Subs songs and poke needles through our cheeks :)

But I did love the professionals the first time round! ;)

RP and NM were great shows and I got into a lot of stuff through them…I especially remember first seeing Paradise Lost (True Belief) and Carcass (Heartwork) on there :)

I wonder what happened to…Krusher I think his name was?

If it was, he should have been given his own show on prime time TV. :D

EDIT - Good on you mrs h. Which one did you prefer? I always wanted to be Bodie (even though Doyle got the better looking women  ).

Bodie of course. I adored him to death. I used to get into fist fights with my sister all the time, though, because she always wanted to watch Starsky and Hutch (which was my favourite programme too until the professionals turned up). Anyway it was at the same time on a different channel so we hated each other for years because of a TV programme! Theres a lot to be said for growing up …

Also Daktari with Clarence the Cross-Eyed Lion !

As for cartoons it has to be Deputy Dog and Captain Cavemen. Mostly because Cavey got to cruise around in one bus with DeeDee , Taffy and Brenda and I didn’t. The lucky bastard !

That’s the feller - he used to do his pieces on a “flying couch” and had a dog called Bullseye, if my memory serves me correctly.

“Salmay dalmay adonay!”

“Nothing works.”

Brilliant stuff - I’m currently working my way through the 1st series on DVD. :)

I’m not familiar with Fabian van Fallada, but I do know Floris. Rutger Hauer in glorious black and white, and great fun to watch on DVD. :D Unlike that shit movie they made a couple of years ago.

i remember that! It was called passengers and i remember Sepultura were on it once showing the presenter around their urban decay.

Go-bots was my obsession when i was young, i even tried to get my family members to call each other by go-bot names which i assigned them!

Ahhhh, I love these things. Seeing the names of programmes you’d long forgotten.

I used to watch The Word, a kind of drunken chat show hosted by Terry Christian and Dani Behr(mmmmm)

As well as mis matched chat guests, they had a section called “The Hopefulls” and it was a bunch of people who’d do anything to get on the telly. There was this guy who licked an incredibly fat and sweaty womans armpits, and another who ate his own pubic hair on a cream cracker. Gross.

They had some great music guests as well including Faith No More, Sepultura, L7 (one of them dropped her trousers at the end of the performance) and Therapy.

The Harry Enfield Show was a particular favourite in my early teens.

I always used to watch Roseanne on Fridays before it too! That was crap though! :p

Ah, Catweazle & “his telling bone”.

And Taffy always called her “Little Cavey Wavey”, when they had to persuade him to do something he didn’t want to do. :p

interceptor - Ah the Phooey, and Spot the cat :D

chr1s - the hopefuls also had one bloke who downed a pint of his own vomit! Classy :(
