Chill Pill

#

Started by johnny_knoxville

ok…

since an invasion of cock gobblins has caused another thread to be taken down…

this is the chill pill thread, were we can all talk about nice things like Sesame Street and Barney and those with high levels of Testosterone wont get abusive when they can’t debate a point!

So I would like everyone to list their top 5 childrens TV programs or heros!!!

1) Sooty (Izzy wizzy lets get busy!)
2) Cartman (he’s a legend)
3) Zippy (I am actually disturbed by him)
4) Roger ramjet (love the song hate the cartoon!)
5) Kermit (everyones fav muppet! apart from me and Suz if you believe the hype)

Love,

Mr Knoxville

jossies giants - football thingy

the boy from (outer?) space - “watch and learn” type programme we watched at school with that floaty weird orange thing, Wordy, was it? Anyhoo, this programme scared the fucking life out of me. I’d LOVE to see it again.

Hahaha, what a nice stuff, i still remember the “canoehead hero” .
Internet says this serie was online between 1988 and 1989 in UK, i suppose also in the rest of europe.
Anyway, this serie was pretty famous here in southamerica.

Nice one mrs h!

In no particular order, I would probably say:

Chorlton and the Wheelies
Jamie and the Magic Torch
Animal Kwackers
Zippy
Basil Brush - Who needs schmaltzy, saccharine Seasame Street characters when you can have a great British sarcastic bastard leading the way in children’s entertainment?!

I certainly do - The Boy From Space.

Remember it very well.

Funnily enough, I found a load of clips on the net of it last year, cos I was listening to one of these “Chill out” CDs for work and there was a track called “The Meteorite” with a load of dialogue that sounded strangely familiar…and it was indeed from The Boy From Space!

How weird. I feel very nostalgic and strangely sad when I saw the clips…

 Thank god we’re not related.

I used to love Batfink*, Dangermouse, Duckula, Top Cat… way too many cartoons.

I’m also quite obsessive about Earthworm Jim… but that started when I was about 15 and continues to this day.

*An overheard conversation between two colleagues yesterday:

Quote (author unknown):

Richard: I saw Batfink this morning.

Becky: Oh, I hate Batfink.

Richard: Really? But his wings are a shield of steel!

Becky: Yeah, I think that’s the problem.

You’ve never heard of a workshop, then?

Smum, you’re so wrong about so many things. This is one of those things. ;)

If by ‘wrong’ you mean ‘not weird’ then much against my better judgement I would be forced to agree with you :)

You’re wrong to think that’s what I meant, and if I had meant it the way you said, then you’d be wrong to agree with me. So either way, it supports what I actually said. ;)
