BBC Sessions - music through a cheap transistor

#

Started by Tightrope Walker

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned someplace else.

“Therapy? - Music through a cheap transistor - The BBC Sessions”

28 storming session tracks including the previously unreleased ‘The Sweeney’ ‘Lost Highway’ and ‘Pile of Bricks’ exclusively available from iTunes from 26th Feb.

Fookin’ great title!!!, and I thought I knew kinda everything about T? but where the heck does Pile of Bricks come from???????

By the way, I got this from a nice ad in the latest Mojo, page 13. Sure been a long time since I saw Therapy? promoted in Mojo, guess that explanes me rushing online!

The sleeve says: Featuring Prisonbreaker Perversonality Nausea Teethgrinder Bloody Blue Pile Of Bricks Screamager Trigger Inside Knives Misery and Lost Highway.

Available as digital downloads only.

So, tell me about Pile of Bricks…

Cheerz,
TW

Don’t expect too much from Pile Of Bricks… it didn’t make any of their records, not even as a b-side, and that’s not without a reason :p

So… that’s probably the compilation of radiosessions Andy was talking about in the interview on French radio? A pity it’s download only… I really must get over it… I hope there are some tracks on there that I don’t have on bootleg yet, but it’s good news anyway, I’ll sure buy the whole thing :)

I see, so Pile of Bricks was the first track on their first Peel Session. Missed that one. Djeeezzz, am I curious to hear ‘Auto Surgery’ from the same session! Definitely one of their most underrated trax, if you ask me…

I really like the title ‘Music through a cheap transistor’, by the way. Nice recycled lyric from ‘Safe’. And ‘Wall of Mouths’ has pile of bricks in it, any relation to that old one?

Yeah, Pile of Bricks is a bit crap. At one point in the song, Andy starts singing “You’ll never walk alone” amongst other things!

What’s the complete tracklisting?

@Viirkokka - We’re not selling it through the website, just through online music stores.

This business of limiting releases to download is really getting out of hand.

The webgig took several days to download - this included the nonsense of having to download the audio and video songs separately. Then we all have to wait for the sleeve to arrive - I haven’t managed to burn the thing onto a disc yet to take it somewhere other than my computer.

Now the release of the BBC music sessions only on imusic or whatever the damn thing is.

This dive into the music underbelly is misconceived and I dont want to listen to music on a computer.

What about those without an ipod or mp3 player blah blah blah??

IM NOT HAPPY

@Mikelen?:
Hooch mentioned it’s hopefull that they’ll release it on CD.
You dont need an MP3 player to listen to it, or itunes. As they said, it’ll be available through other download stores.
And then you can just burn it to C.D

If it comes out on C.D though, id much rather buy that any day than downloading, ‘cause I feel I have something to hold to show for my spent money.

Could someone tell me what the other good music stores are?

Have a fear that this could be another one of those “UK only” shite things like with “Freeze the remains”.

Have to agree with the above though, would be nicer if it was released as a CD.

Well, other good download stores, i’d imagine it means you can download from them even if your outside of the UK :) We’ll be told them all in good time.

yeah, I hate downloads as much as anybody but I think it costs the band too much money to release this kind of stuff on cd, so I think the only way we’ll get it is via download.

So, in a bizarre way, we should be thankful for downloads? Maybe.

Burn it onto a CD from a PC, presumably on the same PC that you use to read and post on WoM.

If that isn’t possible, surely you have access to a PC - a friend, a work colleague, a relative, a library, a school…?

Don’t get me wrong, a CD is for me the favoured medium of choice any day - I am no big fan of downloads at all, but if the only way that Therapy? can viably release something like this (from a financial point of view) is via the ‘net, then let’s be thankful the technology is there, rather than cursing it.

That was a from “live” studio session as apposed to a recorded session, which I’m guessing is the reason that session isn’t included? Incidently, other tracks from that session were Loose, Bad Mother & 30 Seconds.

It won’t be signed but there will be a downloadable (.pdf) inlay to go with it. Andy & Michael have written the liner notes and there’s a couple of ace old pictures.
