I liked the first album -although it did get old quite quickly. Slither still rocks though.

You have to realise it was a quick album to put out based on jams that they had had - it was just a fun album.

I’m hoping this next one will be better, as its actually had some time spent on it. :)

Which will happen fist?

A) The Chineese Fire Drill will be released
B) The original line-up reforms
C) We’ll go a month without someone taking issue with one of Knoxville’s posts :D

D) Axl will stay stoned. A true martyr of this century. :P

E) Seagulls of Grindcore Pop will make the new album called “Axl’s prick” feat. Mike Patton.

F) Killing Joke will make a new album “The True Chinese Democracy, not the one Axl’s trying to release so hard but still being stoned”

Offspring were going to release an album called ” Chinese Democracy ” for a laugh but of course Axl issued a cease and desist order the humourless twat.

Axl IS guns n roses, he bought the name way back when. And as much as they bemoan the fact the original members were handsomely rewarded. Axl gets way too much stick.

From the “new” (didn´t they play these songs live seven years ago for the 1st time!) stuff, “Madagasgar” is an excellent song. That “Chinese democracy” song is not. I also found that “Better” one quit catchy. “Blues” song I´ve heard too but I don´t remember nothin´about that one. The album should deffo be released some day…

What was that song, Don’t Damn Me? If they’re making any these kind of songs again they won’t make it. Axls and Rosies should be banned. :) It’s just a forever project like Duke Nukem Forever.

It would be such a disappointment now if the album actually came out!

I mean, all it has going for it at the minute is its fame as “The Album That Will Probably Never See The Light of Day”. Be a shame to ruin that!

AFD = Genius. One of the best albums ever of all time ever ever ever.

Everything they released afterwards was tainted with Hint of Shit.

I actually liked both Use your Illusions also.

I reckon that I will check this one out too - I am not expecting much and I think that this is exactly the way to approach it.

Would be brilliant if they could reunite the old line up, saw the new one live and wasn’t too impressed to be honest.

There were maybe two or three songs on the UYI albums that would be contenders for “great”, and an awful lot of “well, it’s alright, I suppose, but…hmmm…yeah..Ish” tracks.

I agree with Dennis… AFD was amazing, and still sounds great today after 20 yrs. UYI was up it’s own arse a bit, but, yeah, there were some class songs. What they should have done was make 1 good album using the best songs off both.

I don’t know about anyone else but I think I’ve heard pretty much the entire album in some leaked format and it’s way below average. I really find it hard to believe that this is could even be described as a Gun N’ Roses album, it may be on paper (excellent move Axl by the way you dope) but it isn’t in essence - it’s merely Axl W. Rose ‘of Gun N’ Roses fame’ in session

You could well be right, Gimme.

I don’t think it would be the same though. Even with the same people with the same gear in the same room there is still the fact that 20-odd years on they are bound to be different people with a different approach and different music waiting to come out of them. That may be a good thing, or a total disaster.

I can’t believe Slash has continued to only say nice things about Axl all those years. Slash is just a cool guy and if Chinese Democracy ever sees the light of day, it will probably bomb, and Axl will have to accept that people don’t want GN’R without Slash (and Duff, for that matter).

Really? I absolutely love those albums. Unfortunately i can’t listen to Appetite any more cos i’ve killed it, but I regularly go back to the Illusion albums. I agree theres definitely some filler (2 double albums? theres bound to be) but there are some absolute corkers as well.
