Title: Leeds Rios

According to my contacts in the know, the guy who owns Rios in Bradford has bought Heaven And Hell, up by the Grand Theatre and is converting it into a live venue.

Good on him I say.

I play in a band with a singer who’s a COCK. I was planning to leave as soon as i get my new band on the go which is happening… slowly. Cockhead’s band have a gig on May 5 - the day of the Wildhearts show that is easily closest to my neck of the woods! What do I do?! I really value all your opinions and comments! Honestly! :D

COME ON THE WILDHEARTS - WHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

If you really wanna leave the band, tell them now and that gives them plenty of time to get either a replacement or someone competent enough to dep for you - and it gives that person time to learn the set.

If you stay in a band that you don’t want to be in, just to fufil a gig commitment, well you’re just delaying the inevitable, aren’t you?

(This is coming from a man who is 99% sure he’s gonna leave the band he is with now, by the way)

But i’ve fallen into the old trap of thinking about all the ‘what if’s’ and ‘maybes’ and trying not to let it drive me mad!

Hmm Tricky one but even if they go on to success…do you really want to be in a band with a singer you hate..?

‘What if the band make it big after I leave?’ Then you’ve just narrowly avoided being in a band led by a cock who’s been given a reason to act like one. :)

As no-brainers go - this one is obvious. The only question remaining is whether to leave him in the lurch before the gig or let him be totally humiliated when he’s short staffed at the gig.

I quite like the first couple of songs but after that it gets a littel self indulgent and the lyrics are gratingly abysmal and I’ve still not managed a ful listen because it annoys me so much I have to turn it off.

Last Ginger release that did that to me was Endless Nameless (I liked Clam Abuse)
so maybe I have to wait 10 years before I really appreciate it.

Ginger’s solo stuff has varied in quality. To be honest i’m not a fan of much of it and i even left halfway through his set at Download last year and went to bed i was so disappointed with the Sonic Circus.

This new album is going to rule! :p

I dunno wether to try and get to the cardiff show or not, i can get the train down from wrexham (as i have done a few times before) but its on a school night so not sure if my mum would let me (how rock and roll eh?)

theres always the manchester gig but ive never been to manchester and dont know my way round so would have to bring a mate and none of my mates like the wildhearts.

I wish theyd play wrexham but im 4 years late they played there in like 2003 i think. (how havve they bbecome more popular and playing bigger venues all of a sudden?)

Well the venue in cardiff the point is the smallest venue they’ve played in cardiff i think. The uni and coal exchange are certainly alot bigger.

I think when they played wrexham it was one of them secret warm up gigs that they did. They also did one in the newport tj’s and thats a very small venue ,but was still jam packed.

Manchester Academy is a 5 minute walk from Manchester Oxford Road station - it’s in a major student area and as such is reasonably safe for a city centre. You will always find a lot of people there and the train service usually runs late into the night as it is normally the airport service.

I might well be at that gig too.

Although you do run the risk of me getting drunk, coming round and fucking you up.

You’ve been warned.
