I never went to H&H either, I was in Leeds when it opened and I seem to remember the nickname sweaty and smell being used for it.

I believe it had 3 different rooms, so whether it will be a cockpit style 3 room venue I don’t know.

Whats so bad about the cockpit, laods of bands play there, you should be happy to have a place where you can see bands close to you and have a choice, at the 2 places i alternate living in 1 of them has a venue which only has gigs less than once a month (but gets bands like therapy? and skindred down) and is very expensive
and the other place has weekly gigs but has shitty indie and emo bands that i dont want to see.

and to see a good band i have to travel into england usually which is a big hassle as im too young to drive

stop complaining.

The beer is shite, it is often full of twats (granted not on gig nights, but it taints the whole thing). It’s just a dank festering pit. Oh yeah, a bouncer cupped me there once. Was a bit surprised.

I went to Rio’s on a Monday night back in ‘96 me and 5 mates were all that were there all night…at least I got to explore the place and see the dressing rooms and graffiti.

It was busier when Cannibal Corpse played there a couple of months later.
