Of course you are allowed. Just as long as you don’t ridicule, or insult people that do :)

I, however love Pearl Jam,

Vitalogy and No Code are my favourite albums.

:D That should get the pearl jam fans seething :p

OK I don’t get them, but that’s not cos I am slow or anything, but cos they aren’t very good.

No Dennis it think you may actually be slow as you also said Cliff Burton was not a big deal. I’d get on down to your doctor if i were you. ;)

Cliff isnt such a big deal. There are many many bass players as good or better. It’s just because he died and he played on Metallicas first 3 albums.

My point exactly. I never said he was a poor bassist - of course he wasn’t - but I agree with Squall, he’d have been overtaken by now if he’d lived.

What do you mean by overtaken by now? Cliff Burton was a big deal, he was a very talented man who died in his early twenties. Clean out your ears and listen to some of the stuff on MOP, may i suggest Orion as just a small example of his talent. If he was an average bass player than people wouldn’t be talking about him as much as they do.

Orion is a lovely, haunting, moving piece of music, but does it really represent outstanding ability on the bass?
And does it matter anyway, so long as the music is good?

MoP is a great album, whether or not Burton is the best bassist ever or not.

Anyway, on topic:

Bill Bailey and Eddie Vedder officially swapped bodies on January 27th 2005, after Vedder complained that “everyone thinks I am po-faced but I can crack great surreal one-liners on the subject of pop music, gis a go on Buzzcocks, I could do that…”

Bailey, meanwhile, is working on his quest to write a song as good as “Jeremy” so no-one spots the switch.

All agreements on No Code!! all except for I’m Open (trifling song)..

actually you can tell it’s one of the band’s fav’s too considereing it was one of their worst sellers but they still play tracks off it live in heavy amounts.

aah, the lost art of trifling. Its surely criminal that Pearl Jam were the only act to commit tales of the trifle hunt to tape?

Great songs, great singing :)

I love I’m Open :)

To me, No Code is their last great album. Yield was alright but i lost interest from Binaural onwards. :)

ten and binaural, don’t like yield much apart from one

Erm, the lack of great songs and great singing, primarily.

I feel the need to wade into this debate here.

As anyone who has read my latest blog on my personal myspace page will tell you

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=89416818

I was a grunge child, who has developed a late-onset passion for dirty cheesy hard rock.

I really enjoyed the first 2 Pearl Jam albums and was still believing what Kerrang! told me when Vitalogy came out and took a trip to my nearest record store to buy Spin the Black Circle.

Which I sold 2 days later becasue it was Wank.

I try really hard to like PJ because they sound like the sort of band I ought to like. I even bought their best of, but the only tracks I listen to are the ones from their first 2 albums.

SO after an interminably waffly and tedious post, I tell you this.

Pearl Jam are not very good - because I said so.

Yeah I did mate, and my comment (constructive though it is) on your blog was of course just a joke.

If the Music Police ever ride into town, I am sure I will be amongst the first against the wall!

Hey, here’s a band you might like:

You knew it all at 13 didn’t you. No such thing as a bad PJ album but some are better than others. Same can’t be said for the Wildhearts no can it?

Shit touched a nerve here didn’t I - 2 options

a) fight my corner - defend Endless Nameless - lose.
b) back down - look weak - lose.

Just pretend I’m not here - carry on - I was just trying to generate discussion.

Phew - that was close.
