Is there anybody who thinks that Andy could put more solo lines in songs? Not kind of satriani or page, but some kind as in intro of dancin with manson or opal mntra?

more solo lines can be a good idea, but it could change the direction of therapy’s music.
I’m not sure that Andy would like that

i like to hear twiddly little guitar melodies in a song - as long as they add something you can go woah woah oh to! The current musical climnate tho is bent towards a few chords with hardly any personal flourishes but it will come round again when I rule the world!

Rock Music with no solos is like Jazz with no musos

:D I’ll be here all night !

Seriously though - listen to St Anger - that album needs solos !!

And Nu Metal - mind you - nu metal guitarists only know how to use one finger.

A whole rock album with no solos is just boring to me.

And it doesnt have to be widdle widdle steve vai awfulness - just a nice melodic 16 bar solo will do :)

I love a good solo, but they really do have to fit the song properly, you can’t just have one for the sake of it.

For every pointless fretboard wank-off there are some really creative, melodic ones, but for Therapy? I prefer that they use interesting musical passages rather than feeling the need to play solos. Andy is no lead guitarist and it’s no loss to the band that they don’t have a guitar hero of that ilk -it isn’t “missing” from the band.

That is what i sad. Something like intro for dancin with manson.
anyway T? play kind of music wich dont need some solo pasage, but some lines or melodic distorsion (andy can do it wery well) is welcome.

Ive allways like Andys kind of playing, I also play guitar that way, but still sometimes it comes to that point that you need to make some melody not only by the riffs.

:o

I think that Andy dont wont to bother himself with to much practicing. Do you remember his try to play solo on scophopfobia dvd( with teeths)? That is unique rythm guitar player try to play satriani solo. But still i think that satriani dont have that much ideas as Andy (that is why I like T? melodies more then Dire straits,Led zzepelin, Grand funk railroad, or ewen Paco de lucia…) Andy says his point with no complications, just straight, and that purity is greatnes of T?
Ewery jerk can play solo lines for blues for an hour, but if you go to next club you shell hear hard rocker playing same lines. You cant except people remember your playing if your point is only a speed and clear tones and you sound like you are practicing major lines just that moments.
