I think Th? could have succes yet. But it’s mot what they’re searching for.
They prefer being out of the spotlights, doing the music they want, playing for their fans
It’s my opinion

Pretty much you can either have the T? you love or you can have a much more successful T? And we all love them precisely because their music reflects the fact that the didn’t sell their souls to the man…

good answer ! I share your opinion.
I red in a french interview of Andy (during the semi detached album), that he didn’t want anymore to make shows with celebrities on MTV, when they went on TV, sometimes, they would have to be shaved for a TV show (an exemple), what they didn’t want, they didn’t want to go an make an album just for their records house…
We like this guys for what they are

They could make Troublegum 2 and it won’t sell if people don’t hear about it!

They already made that record, it is named ‘High Anxiety’.

great album by the way

High Anxiety is troublegum 2?

‘Cause personally I dont feel they have much resembelance. Infact, although I liked it, I felt let down by HA when I first got it and it took a while to grow on me whereas Troublegum I liked on first listen.
In my opinion, T? albums each have a different “feel” to them.

For Auto Surgery, Totally Random Man and Opal Mantra.. I would really like an album that echoes the feel that they had, since I dont believe they reflected any particular album, though had mixes of Trouble Gum, Pleasure Death and Babyteeth.

I voted yes. You never know, it´s all about good timing and being in a right place in a right time. In fact I don´t care, main thing for me is that they´re still around playing killer gigs for us, the fans and making such masterpiece records as OCFA is.

i got into HA quicker than i ever did Troublegum.

Maybe it was because I had heard a few Troublegum songs first before I got into T?, and since HA arrived first it wasn’t what I was used to and expecting.

Before I liked HA I hadn’t listened to it properly.. I just listened expecting Troublegum-esque music. This was before I decided to myself that T? re-invent themselves a slight amount for each new album.
(I got HA first then Troublegum, then Semi-Detatched.. so that provided a broad range of their work)

I love HA. When I first heard If It Kills Me, I instantly loved it. The whole record is easy to get into and they would have deserved far more success with it.

HA is their second best record and Stand In Line is their best song ever! I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again - how many other bands do you know who can combine crushing heavy punk speed riffs with happy punk/pop and make a truly great album that sounds cohesive?

I want more like this! :)

Its a good introduction to someone I think also. I know many may say Troublegum but I’ve also known others to have found that album to be too ‘down’ and have rejected it, whereas HA is some what upbeat. Even been told that ‘the lyrics are crap..’ for Troublegum, especially for Knives lol :D

And yes ‘Stand in Line’ is a ditty, love the lead over the chorus ;)

They need to get Chris Sheldon / Pete Bartlett back.

Why not get them to co-produce ?

They co produced Not in Any Name.

I dont understand bands that make great sounding records with a producer and then get someone new in and it sounds awful. Just stick with Chris or Pete !!! ( Please ! )

I agree - that last guy did a terrible job - you can tell he’s a guitarist, the guitars sounded good and everything else sounded rushed! (drums and vx esp!)
