I know there are some people on the WoM who dig monster magnet. If you haven’t allready heard it, here’s some news that blabbermouth.net has:

MONSTER MAGNET frontman Dave Wyndorf has returned to the studio with producer Matt Hyde to resume work on the band’s new album.

Wyndorf was forced to halt work on the CD in February 2006 after overdosing on prescription drugs.

Hyde, who worked with MONSTER MAGNET on their “Powertrip” and “God Says No” releases, stated about the band’s new CD back in March 2006, “I believe it has the potential to be their best record since ‘Powertrip’.”

MONSTER MAGNET’s last studio album, “Monolithic Baby”, was released in 2004 via SPV.

i’m in 2 minds about monster magnet. Everything up to Superjudge was fucking ace, superjudge itself being one of my favorite albums, but everything after has been pretty poor. Still, glad Daves got his act together.

Saw em at the Big Day Out in Milton Keynes and they were really good… Dave setting fire to his guitar and some of the stage and all :) rock n roll!

Love the song Powertrip , the rest of there stuff im not as into. The last album I thought was decent , well the first 5 or 6 songs , Hotel Baby was good.

The fact that it contains two coversongs always worried me, let’s hope dave got enough time to chew on his ideas in detox so that we have a lot of originals that will stand the test of time.

well and if it sucks after all. too bad. We got Clutch, Hidden Hand, Fu Manchu that have already saved the year for yankee hard rock.
