Started by not that kind of guy (Richard) in Other Bands & Artists

at work today i was listening to my friends i-pod and found the “Real Life” album by Magazine on there. after a preliminary listen, i like what i’ve heard. they’re a band that i’ve heard of before (mostly from mansun always going on about them) but never investigated.

any pointers for future reference?

Howard Devoto used to be the original singer in the Buzzcocks then left to start magazine… Real life is probably the best album to start with IMO but Secondhand Daylight is also quite good… never heard the last album so can’t say. Try and hunt down Spiral Scratch by the Buzzcocks, that has Devoto on it and is cracking!
