I met them a few times but never really talk to them .It was a gig in France during the infernal love tour, and also in luxemburg during the last tour. Andy had no voice because he went to a pub the day before ,watching a game and probably screaming…the others were ok.They really don’t behave like rockstars and that’s the best point i think.

i meet them when they played the forum in tunbridge wells last year, i said to martin and graham that andy should try and sing potatoe junkie in a cornish accent because i’d love to hear ‘Oim Biddrr, Oim ‘wistd, Jams Joyce be Fuckin’ moi sistrr’, and they recommended that i asked him myself so i did, and he tried it! didn’t work thou, all he can say in that accent is ‘Arr, summerset!’, but top marks for him giving it a go! After the gig, i was about to leave and i went on a mission to find my friend max who was coming back to mine, and he was standing there having a full conversation with andy about the set and how tightly they had played! when i went over, max grabbed me and said to andy: ‘this is your biggest fan in the world! he gets so much abuse for listening to your band but he still won’t stop, i think he really likes you!’!! i also had no idea that his irish accent was _that_ thick; it was a bit hard to understand what he was saying later on when he was drinking. anyway, speaking of meeting bands, my opld flatmate rich may be able to get backstage passes to reading coutrtesy of saffron from republica! woo-hoo! i wanna meet fear factory and tell dino cazares that eh’s a mountain bastard but i that his playing has influenced me a lot and i’m really gratefull for bands that break from the mould like they have. crossed fingers!

i also met them a few times before their concerts. we talked about football and andy’s sympathy for chelsea fc. he even wore a chelsea shirt before going on stage in munich in 1998. two years later (february 2000) we met again in munich and he came over to me asking if i was the one he had talked to about chelsea during the last tour. really cool, isn’t it? i mean, he travels the whole world and remembers certain people because having talked to them! he also remembered my friend christian who always wears his northern ireland football shirt at the T?-gigs. when we went to wales last august to see their concert (we were in leeds before to see 1860 munich play there) he even said hello to us from the stage. i can’t wait to see them return to munich!

I met Therapy? in Holland during the tour last year. I went to see the gig with two good friends of mine, we play in a band together as well. We found T? sitting in the bar of Nighttown in Rotterdam after their show. At first it was kinda crowded and there were some fans around but they left pretty quick. We stayed and talked about an hour and a half. We told Andy & Graham we are a band and they loved it. We said we were surprised that there was no support band for that night, Andy answered that if T? had known about it, we would have played there to support T?. Our drummer couldn’t help asking about Fyfe - but they were really ok with that. Andy told us a beautiful story about his grandma or granddad - Don’t remember. The conversation was mainly about becoming big rockstars and not to get carried away and become an asshole. T? succeeded big time in ignoring all of the rockstar bullshit, LOTS OF RESPECT!!!
I also met them at lowlands ‘98 where they did a signature session - it was the easiest thing, small tent just a few ppl, excellent. Really nice guys.
Untill next time, I geuss :)

I saw them last year in Brussels.
I won a backstage pass on a belgian radiostation called studiobrussel.
I met them before the show but a Belgian presentator for a television show took all the available time so I didn’t talk to them.
As the left for the stage, Michel returned, asked at the guy from the recordcompany who the lucky fan is they didn’t talk to, so he pointed to me. Michel came to me, appologized and said I should return after the show to have some beers and talks with the guys.
And I did. It was fun. Have a nice picture of us.
They are really nice and fun guys to hang out with.

I met Therapy? once backstage at their concert with Skunk Anansie in Deinze, Belgium. (thanks to Wouter for that :) Unfortunately the show was cancelled due to power problems at the venue, but in stead we got a really cool short acoustic set for the fans that had stayed there (only about 30 people I guess). It also was the first time I drank Guinness :-) I must say I think Andy at the time was into drugs (no really bad behaviour but something was wrong I thought), but Michael was very nice and we talked about their South American shows with Ozzy. I ended up hanging around more with Skunk Anansie and the crew than with the guys from Therapy?, but I really didn’t mind. Fyfe was nowhere to be seen which I still think is a pity because I do believe he has a great style. I did see the guys a few times for short moments (I got their autographs at a Werchter show a few years ago) and ofcourse been front row numerous times.

Only last Friday I was at the VIP/Press area at the Rock Werchter festival in Belgium sitting with some friends at a table, when Michael walked by. He recognised me (as a fan from concerts?) and said how are you doing, I said fine what are you doing here and he said he was with some friends. I didn’t know what else to say or ask as het sat down at the table next to us with a girl I don’t know.

Another funny story: last time Therapy? played at the Melkweg in Amsterdam me and a friend were rather early as some other fans arrived as well. They were talking to eachother and wondering if the band were coming out front. At that time Graham came walking by with a mobile phone but the fans didn’t recognise him :) After he hung up I walked to him asking if we could see the sound check or get backstage afterwards and he said he’d try but we never saw him back :( The show itself was amazing, though!

No, I haven’t spoken to them in person yet, but I did see them walking around off-stage a couple of times. They were busy talking to other people and I didn’t feel like bothering them with some useless comments at the time.

First time I met them at Rock Werchter about 1997 or 96 and asked Andy to autograph my red Belga cap. Not only with the names but he draw the Gemil on it on my request.

The second time was at Rock Zottegem 7 July. At the afterpart (after the BBQ and concert) I talked with especially Andy and it was very funny and with lots of nice other people around.

See you soon at the next gig.

Hey, looks like there’s still Irish fans around then :) If you see Fyfe again, can you send him my regards (no, he doesn’t know me personally) and ask if he’s planning to put any of that great drumming on records?

It was in 1997, they were in Ankara, capital city of Turkey. I was in front of the venue 10 hours before the concert! I was sitting and thinking in which hotel they were staying. I thought about all the hotels in Ankara, but forgot to think about the hotel next to the venue. Then I looked at the windows of the hotel then I saw Graham looking around. I screamed ‘Graham!’ he looked at me and waved his hand. Then Graham and Martin came to the venue, I talked to them. A few minutes later Michael was there. I told him that I waited for that day for 4 years. Then Andy and his wife came. The first thing I said to Andy was: ‘You’re my god!’ We took pictures together. After the concert I helped their guitar technician and after the loading he took me to the hotel bar where T? guys were drinking. Michael asked me ‘Was it worth waiting for 4 years?’. Guess my answer!!!
The day after they played in Istanbul. I was also there. Before the show, Andy’s wife was recording the audience with hercamera. I waved my hand, she saw me and she was really shocked to see me there. Because, Istanbul was 450km far from Ankara. After the show I met the guys again.
Then, last year I was in Bizarre Fest. in Germany. There was a signing session for T?. When Michael was signing my CD’s, he told me he remembered me. Then Andy asked me: ‘How are you? How are things going on in Turkey?’ I fell to my knees!
At this moment there’s only one thing I can say:
THEY ARE THE BEST BAND AND THE BEST GUYS IN THIS F**KING WORLD!!!!
