Fair enough let the embarressment commence:

The first CD single I bought:
R Kelly - She’s got that vibe.

The first CD album I bought:
Pearl Jam - Ten.

The first LP (Long Player) bought for me:
The Jive Bunny & the Mastermixers.

First snog at a school disco song:
Phyllis Nelson - Move Closer.

First song I tried to dance to and realised I had no co-ordination:
Phillip Bailey & Phil Collins - Easy Lover.

Song I apparantly used scream at as a baby but like now:
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Fanfare for the Common Man.

I have a soft spot for Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Just remember liking them on Top of the Pops performing Relax and Two Tribes. Then when I was 9 years old, my parents bought me a copy of Welcome to the Pleasuredom for Christmas. The tape is long gone but I’ve got it in my CD collection.

Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust and Queen’s A Night at the Opera also brings back childhood memories, whenever my parenst would put it on the turntable. Of course, they ask me if they can borrow my CDs of those albums now, don’t they.

What else; the first time I heard Iron Maiden on TOTP with Can I Play With Madness, Dexy’s Midnight Runners on the radio on my way home from school when I was seven years old, discovering Joy Division and Specials on MTV’s Greatest Hits with Paul King when I was fourteen, my cousin introducing the Dead Kennedys to me and dancing to the Levellers at a student’s night every Thursday.

Oh what happy days.

Entwine - reminds me of the lead singer spit all the drinking water to my face at Lahti, Finland gig. :D

T? - say fuck off to the camera man :D Still I get the laughs when I’m remembering the Ruisrock gig. :D

Paradise Lost: Draconian Times - reminds me of my first bought album and my first cd-double deck casette player. It’s still alive after all these over ten years!

Type O Negative: Bloody Kisses - reminds me of horses, especially the Summer Girl song..maybe you’ll get the picture..girl riding a horse. Yes, yes, she was really pretty hot one! And I mean the girl. ;)
She sets me on fire… :P

There are many songs that gives me back the old golden times again.

Thanks for this post. This is good one.

Torpedo Girl - Kiss one of my favorites as a wee boy in 1st grade. Always a big Ace Frehley fan..sounds a bit crap now, but I loved it as a little kid.

Big Balls -AC/DC remembering how as little kids me and my friends thought it was cool that he said “balls”

Cruel to be Kind- Nick Lowe, on a long bus trip with my cousin Chrissy and my Mom to Detroit from Cleveland and this was one of the songs in heavy rotation up there. I must have heard it 100 times for those few weeks that summer. Still have a soft spot for it.

Photograph - Def Leppard. Remembered voting for it 100 times on MTVs Friday Night Video Fights. This was always up against Metal Health it seemed.

Peace Sells - Megadeth. Nothing was the same after that..

Three Headed Chick - Lord Tracy and Bang Goes the Bells by Babylon AD, Late nights cruising around with the brew crew during High School.

Can’t Bring Me Down- Suicidal Tendencies - The mandatory “Get Pumped” song played in the car on my way to deck-hockey games. Everyone just would go nuts.

Screamager - T?, Late Nights at the gas station just cranking the hell out of the sterio we had hooked up in the garage.

Bound To The Floor- Local H. Trip up to Cooperstown with my buddy Chris after graduating from college. Actually of that whole summer, this was in heavy rotation on the radio and on my CD deck.

shortly after I got a job and everythings kind of blurred together since then.

Cold War Comforts - Blythe Power. Such a fantastic Summer … I have no idea why that just came back to me, but I’m glad it did. :)

“Though I can feel the warming sun’s display
I could sleepy eyes unopened pass the balance of my days
Drowsing in this blue tobacco haze
But there’s a world through the window rolling past
I’ve tried to stop it turning quite so fast..”

*goes back to sleep*

It’s a disgrace and a … and a … well I don’t know what it is but I’m appalled. I love that song and now I have to turn the telly off whenever it comes on because it annoys me so much :(

Understandable reaction mrs h. But I’m more of a Lovecats person.

First song I thought at first listen this band are total pap, why do people like them - More than words by Extreme. I then proceeded to tell anyone who would listen to me to drop Extreme & listen to Faith No More. Two years later I had two mates appear in Faith No More T-shirt - and I got an apology from both of them ( and an Angel Dust T-shirt). Smug doesn’t do that feeling any justice. :D
