We had some dodgy weather all weekend (and I was camping, just my luck) but no major flooding where I was or where I live. Mind you, I live quite high up, so the chance of us getting any kind of serious flooding is very, very low!

Compared to the pictures I am seeing of Yorkshire and the North East, I would say those of us in the West Midlands at least can count ourselves very lucky.

Leeds City Centre was flooded last night, as well as quite a few other parts of the city - not like Sheffield though! Apparently we had 61mm of rain in 9 hours here. I don’t know why people are so surprised though - it has hardly stopped raining for the last 2 weeks!

The Isle of Ely??!! I don’t believe there is any such place, it sounds like somewhere inhabited by dragons and goblins and things! :D

The Isle of Ely does exist, but I was under the impression that it lies below sea level, which would make it strange that no flooding occurred there!

@Mrs H:
Are you heading to the quiz this evening?

 Buffalo Boy lives in Atlantis?!! How cool is that :D

Do you think he has webbed feet like Patrick Duffy?

I’m going to the quiz unless I’m sick. I was rather tipsy last night and the thought of drinking makes me want to vomit :(

You’ve got hours to recover. Make yourself a nice bacon sandwich and sit in a trance for a couple of hours and you’ll be fine.

As long as its dry in Spetember I don’t give a shit. Oh, and on the last week of July, my mate is bringing his two kids down, so it better be shining for that.

Well I hope it blows over. My brave little soldier lands on Saturday and for the first time in his life he has done his own packing!

It’s hard shopping for boxers in Morocco I’m told.

I’m pretty sure he has done that, but only because I had to trudge into town to buy him some new ones. And an mp3 player. I’m soft in the head, aren’t I? :(

DON’T ANSWER THAT QUESTION, LADS!

THIS IS ONE OF THOSE FEMALE TRICK QUESTION TYPE WHASSAMACALLITS!

YOU KNOW, LIKE “DO I LOOK ALRIGHT IN THIS?” AND “DO YOU THINK I HAVE PUT WEIGHT ON?” AND “IS IT OK IF MY MOTHER COMES OVER TONIGHT?”

DON’T FALL INTO THE TRAP!

*desperately tries not to say “No they look fine”, when any woman knows that in the context of such a sentence, the word “fine” has the alternate meaning of: “Absolutely hideous, in a way that not only exposes your rolling masses of flesh, but unbelievably manages to accentuate the effect.” Despite the fact that men never ever actually mean this when they say it. What they actually mean is “I haven’t actually looked up from my watch to see what you look like, I am more bothered about the fact that yet again I am stood here waiting for you to finish getting ready so that we can be the last to arrive. AGAIN”*

erm

The trousers are great, and how could they possibly make you look fat?! Anyway ARE WE FOOKING GOING NOW OR SHALL I JUST KILL MYSELF?!
