- That they can release a great album full of attitude and edge but also TUNES and whilst it sells modestly to a loyal fanbase, Metallica shift bucket loads of copies of a stillborn piece of shite. :(

agreed. i was so disappointed with OCFA. to me it just “sounds” awful. i don’t dispute the facts that there are some cracking songs on it but the way it was produced makes it unlistenable to my ears. it’s a shame for me personally as i know i could have quite easily adored that album.

I´m not a damn producer (It seems that many of you are:)) so maby that´s why I dont still find anything strange or weak in the OCFA production. It sounds FUCKIN`EXCELLENT! Great beginning with Sprung and excellent ending with WTD. Between those songs are many songs that I include in their best songs. I promised myself to not take part in this disgustion anymore but I get really pissed off reading these comments about OCFA. What do people want: T? turning up to music like Metallica or what?! Some people REALLY aren´t satisfied with nothin`/anything:(
Yes, I hope they´ll bring out a rockin one album next year and I don´t want another IL pt2, TG pt2 etc. A different album like OCFA is would just be fine. That´s why I love the band so much, cause I never know what to expect! And they make such music which they love at the moment.PERKELE, SAATANA!
And yes, the last Metallica album was shit (couple of good songs) but Met is Met and T? is T? and we´re talking about T? here, right? Met is in the other forum:)
Think I get one ice cold Karhu now and cool down:D
I´s hotter than hell in sauna on the Fri evening and it seems to be hot here on the forum too, heh:D

My only hope is that I’ll like it, I don’t care what direction they’ll go, as long as it rocks :)
So far they have never dissapointed me with any of their releases. I’m open for another surprice :)

All in all whatever they choose to do will be fine with me… maybe they should produce it themselves and then use the money they would have spent on a producer to get someone decent to mix it.:)

I was thinking about OCFA and it’s production when washing my hair this morning as I do every morning (not think about OCFA)…
Thinking about it one year on with an (ahem) unbiased opinion I think I know where the problem lies for some of you guys. I some of you want the rawest of the raw production, what you see as the “NANE” and “Babyteeth” production. Some of you on the otherhand want T? to get cleaner and more mainstream (mainstream isn’t negative here) ala High Anxiety and S-detatched, and trouble gum (maybe).
I think the production of OCFA strangely tries to pamper to both needs and there lies the problem. To do both isn’t easy.
I hope that shed’s some light on the situation.
Oh and before I get any aggro I like OCFA (especially 2 tracks deluded son and walk through darkness… actually they are head and shoulders above the rest imho)… I also love all the other albums I mentioned.

Hey, just listening to this album again recently (OCFA) and I love it even more so. And too be honest I couldn’t give a pickle about production values when a band such as T? have enough strength in the songs themselves already.
Having a different production gives, to me, every album that they’ve released - a whole new character.
Each to their own but this is what I feel about the subject :)

Power to you Kossu. What people should realize though is that one man’s ‘poor’ production is another man’s good one. Maybe it’s just a spin to roll the album out like it did? Doesn’t work for everyone, but then that’s also T?’s theme, with the possible exception of their punk poprock heydey. Enjoy your bearbeer. :>
For the next album I have no specific hopes other than that the band themselves enjoy it and found new ways to reinvent themselves. And trippy lyrics maybe? A good cover that makes me get immersed into an exploratory stare? Liner notes with free LSD stamps?

I agree with sould doubt and Lossu if t? release a new record it doesnt matter what they do it’ll be good.
I wouldnt mind something expiremental like infernal love or suicide pact, but looking at the situation i forsee it being another quite poppy album (though with t? they usually do different to what you excpect i find :) )

Wow..now that is a very perceptive point - I never would have seen that myself, but I totally agree.
Personally, I love some of OCFA but there are just a few too many songs that I skip - all down to the songs not the production. I can put up with a duff production if the basic song underneath is good enough.
That’s not to say it’s a bad album by any means, just one of my less favourite T? albums.
