FOOTBALL!

I’ve taken Deekoi’s suggestion and read through the old posts, and there’s some crazy shit there! I like the football talk though.
Who thinks Ireland will have enough to knock Holland out of the World Cup? All we have to do is avoid defeat in Dublin in September. God, I hope to fuck we do it, it’s been a long time since we qualified for anything - USA 94, to be exact. Go on Keaners!!!

Sorry to disappoint you, but in the end, things will be fine for Holland I think. All they need is a real motivator, like qualification. They always leave it till the last moment, but Holland simply has way more quality than Ireland. The Irish can fight like dogs though, something that Holland will need too if they want to defeat Ireland. But if Holland won’t qualify, I’ll support the Irish! Gotta love their fans, they cannot be compared with the English in any way! Go Ireland (if Holland loses, that is…)!

Michael, Holland will find it next to impossible to win in Dublin - we have a great record there! But, we should definately have won in Amsterdam - 2-0 up with only 20 minutes to go? We really fucked that up and Holland got a 2-2 draw. I admit we were lucky to get a 1-1 draw with Portugal in Dublin, they played much better than us. I can see another draw with Holland though, and that means bye bye Holland!
We’ll end up in another fuckin play-off though. God, I hate them - beaten in the last three play-offs (Holland, Belgium(!), Turkey(!!!)
I hope we finish best runner-up, in that case we’ll play some shite team from Asia, like China or somebody. I don’t care how we get there really, so long as we do - we really need something to cheer us up!!

I have to admit though, Holland play way better football than us and I bet every neutral football fan would prefer to see Holland than Ireland - it is a shame that both countries won’t be there ‘cos I love watching Holland play, but I still think Ireland will get though.

Yeah, what a f…g hard qualification group that is!!! I mean, how can Ireland, Holland and Portugal come together??? It’s very sad that at least on of those teams cannot qualify. Look at that easy groep Italy has picked! That’s not against you and your team, infernalover, but they could have sent their b-team and still would have qualified.

By the way, next sunday, the one and only football match ever will be held at Copenhagen:

GREENLAND vs TIBET !!!

Brilliant one, isn’t it?

What’s your favourite football club by the way?

Well, that’s it, the Dutch ruined the last chance of qualification, I didn’t see that one coming. But I can bear losing from Ireland, so I’ll be supporting Ireland from now on. Go Ireland, go!!!

Hi Michael, don’t worry! At least, the Netherlands have young and talented players whereas Germany puts all its hope in nobodies as Ballack, Deisler and Asamoah! I’m really glad that England beat, no wait, destroyed the German team tonight! Well, Germany’s going to qualify against Ucraine but they do not really deserve it it, I think.

Good luck to England!

For me as a German, it was always untypical to have idols such as van Basten and especially Rijkaard when I was younger. But I never cared for any nationalities…

Well, their hotel is 50 metres away from Atomic Cafè, my favourite club in Munich. On Friday evenings, it’s brit-pop and rock time at AC, so that’s where they got their motivation from!

By the way, I know why Tony Adams wasn’t able to play: Munich is the world capital of beer…

I may be biased, but I think a world cup without Holland is really missing something! It’s the same when England, Brazil, Italy, France, etc. doesn’t qualify, it’s a real shame I think.

Who can believe Ireland have knocked out the Dutch? What a fantastic result! Thanks to Michael (and the other Dutch lads here) for the congratulations. It looks like we’ll finish second behind Portugal though, and we’ll be playing a pile of muppet Arabs in the play-off.
We’ve lost the last three play-offs (Turkey, Belgium & Holland) but I’ve a good feeling this time. Another tournament without Ireland would be a disaster, especially after beating Holland. Oh, well done to England too.

Unlucky??!! I can’t say they were unlucky against Holland in the semi-finals of Euro 2000! In ‘98, they weren’t that great, in ‘96, they deserved to be eliminated before the knock out stage. I agree, Holland does not deserve to qualify for WC 2002, but they were very unlucky in the previous tournaments, and I’m not even talking about our penalty-problem…
Well, I can fill pages about this footbal talk, so let me stop here. From now on, till after WC 2002, I’ll be an Ireland fan!
