lol, so you did. We tried to film it as well but it was too dark :( Then Ruth had to catch it to put it back outside, it made such a sweet little chattering sound. I realise it’s probably the sound a bat makes when it’s extremely upset or angry but still… sooooooo adorable. There’s about 50 living in our roof, but this is the first time we’ve seen one up close.

You’ve just heard their late night parties, I suppose? :)
When I first saw the thumbnail for the pic, I thought it was Daisy’s ‘pinecone’…

hehe, we still haven’t identified that.
I know there’s so many bats cause we stood in the drive a couple of weeks ago and counted them flying out of the roof, it was quite spectacular.
A big crack has appeared in Ruth’s ceiling over her bed, and she’s very scared that she’ll wake up covered in bats :s

That must have looked cool. But I bet you didn’t actually count fifty, did you?

And you should reassure Ruth: She’s far more likely to wake up covered in batshit. :D

I don’t want them to die, they’re beautiful :(
We counted 47 (they don’t all fly out at once in a swarm, I guess it must be a very small hole) but then our necks ached too much to look at the roof any more.

Yeah, it’s a small hole, or else there’s only two or three of them, and they keep going back in by the back door. :D
Still: bless. :)
