rip. Im too young to really know much about him, but from what ive read he ran factory records, which of course released joy divisions music, and joy division are one of the most infulencial bands on me and im sure plently of other people

that’s a shame. i read some book about him a few years back (which was actually mostly about new order and the hacienda) and he seemed like a nice chap. a bit of an unprofessional businessman but a bloke who was really only doing it for the music he liked.
i still stand by my opinion though that the happy mondays were, and will always continue to be, shit.
he was a legend though. my respect goes out to his family and friends.
