Led Zeppelin O2 Arena

Started by Dennis

Now, I know none of us were there (apart from Divers’ dad, but unless he has a WoM account I guess we won’t hear from him!) But any thoughts?

Come on Dan, what about this setlist?

“Good Times, Bad Times,”
“Ramble On,”
“Black Dog,”
“In My Time of Dying,”
“For Your Life,”
“Trampled Underfoot,”
“Nobody’s Fault but Mine,”
“No Quarter,”
“Since I’ve Been Lovin’ You,”
“Dazed and Confused,”
“Stairway to Heaven,”
“The Song Remains the Same,”
“Misty Mountain Hop”
“Kashmir.”
“Whole Lotta Love”
“Rock and Roll.”

Apparently Dan was sad enough to follow the setlist updates as they were posted on NME.com. I know this because he said so in a post last night which I spotted when I was online, alternating between WoM and…erm…NME.com (well, I can do saddo as good as any of you fuckers! )

Fairly predictable set maybe…but then can you imagine seeing Zep and them NOT playing Stairway and Black Dog and Rock n Roll…?!

I just hope that this landmark performance is released in full on DVD, ideally with a free Cadbury Creme Egg, but that’s just me…

You’re released with a free creme egg? The prison service is just plain weird.

Well they used to release you with a set of clean clothes and your bus fare home (a bit like Bulls Eye but with clean clothes) but now they just sort of offer you up to 70p in sweets or other confectionary, although your not allowed Hubba Bubba if you’ve been done for vandalism in the past 12 months.

Sounds like a fair deal. Who needs clothes when there are Cadbury’s Creme Eggs to be had, right?

Right. And I should know, I have many times sold mylast item of clothing to fund my creme egg addiction.

You may laugh but those things are a bugger to load into a syringe.

Yeah, they kind of scrapped the advert we filmed:

*Camera cuts to pasty faced, red-eyed Dennis*
(VOICEOVER) How do you eat YOURS?

(DENNIS) Intravenously…Usually as a speedball with a can of Relentless

*Amy Winehouse suddenly rises from Dennis’ waist level and straightens up*

(DENNIS) Hey, I gotta find the money from somewhere, ya know…? :(

(THE MAN WHO OPERATES THE MR CADBURY PARROT) Oh fuck, I think we’re gonna have to get back to the drawing board…

What, on set of the abandoned Cadbury Creme Egg “Addicted Prostitute” advert?

Oh you mean the Led Zep gig?

:( Me too. If you do a search you’ll find a clip of a part of Black Dog that the BBC showed. You tube has some dodgy bootleg clips too. Still holding out for a DVD, apologies if I sound like a broken record but they really MUST release this.

Much as I’d love to see them, I can’t be doing with the inevitable scramble for tickets and inflated prices there would be..

At least with a DVD you are quaranteed a front row seat. At least, you are if the wife shifts her arse out of the way of the TV*. (Quite why she has to stand there to do her hair is beyond me…SHIFT WOMAN, ferchrissakes…!)

(*this is of course the scenario in MY house, I don’t expect her to be standing in front of anyone else’s TV. If she DOES, just stand to one side and coax her away using a large vodka and coke and twenty Embassy No.1. - It usually does the trick)

I saw Plant live last summer, he sings some Led Zeppelin songs one octave under the original tune! Apart from the final part of Whole lotta love, which he sings as in the 70s! Awesome!

I have seen oasis live in a small arena and they were fantastic. They are a very good live band ( at least when they still had Alan…Zak doesn’t really float my boat . )
