Great bandname and some fine tunes too( the ones played on the radio), but I have not really gotten into them. What album do you recommend?

fuzzy logic is superb, but i lost interest after that. I think they think they’re a lot cleverer than they actually are.

I like them though sometimes they’re a bit too Welsh for me. ;-)

Hey Venus is an excellent pop album, though.

Rings around the world was great, the tour for that was superb aswell. I think they’ve slowly expanded the sound after Fuzzy Logic which was the only real straight down the line indie album.

Seen them live a couple of times. First time i saw them, they had a great 5.1 surround sound thingy, which sounded pretty cool. Sounded like a kind of Jungle thing with mokeys running around and birds calling etc.
The next time they had these mad suits with lots of lights and they drove onto the stage on a golf kart, which was a bit wierd.

Musically tho, they’re not for me.

First four albums are good, including the Welsh languauge one, ‘Myng’. Very eclectic and daft but also good musically. Since then I’ve been a bit disappointed. ‘New Life’ was great but they’ve put out far too many ballady type songs and straight-up pop like the single of ‘Rings around the World’.

Just buy the best of, its got all the gems on.

I went to see Gruff Rhys solo last year and he was brilliant, and his new solo album is pretty mega too

Some great songs, some good ones, lots of dull ones. I don;t think I am on the right drugs to fully appreciate them.

On one level I can totally appreciate their whole aesthetic but…If i don’t want to listen to them cos the songs are a bit crap it doesn’t mean a lot does it!
