Local bands taking over in 2008!!

#

Started by opal_mantra (Holly)

Are there any local bands to you that you think are destined for big things this year?

I’m sure anyone who’s read any of my posts before will know I’m a shameless fan of Needless, who will be melting your ears with their sound..(1st MARCH!! NOTE IT IN YOUR DIARIES!!)
Local bands to me (newcastle) that I believe will get some highly overdue recognition..are:

Needless - http://www.myspace.com/needlessuk
According To George - http://www.myspace.com/accordingtogeorge
Transplant Research - http://www.myspace.com/transplantresearch

http://www.myspace.com/urbnri - This lot seem to be doing the rounds in Glasgow lately. I saw them supporting OCS recently. Not my kind of thing, but they were well recieved. Plus i like the name. It’s Irn Bru backwards!! :D

The prettiest? Oh I dunno, have you SEEN those nice lads in Carcass..? *flutters his eyes in the direction of Carcass. Carcass run a mile*

And why does The Sevs’ myspace descrive Birmingham as “North West”?! Have they moved Brum?!

*secretly prays they HAVE*

@Dennis - If you look you will notice they have Leeds down as North West too, which is crap. I don’t know why though - I keep meaning to ask and then I keep forgetting. However if Birmingham moves north I’m afraid we are going to have to palm Hull off on you southerners …

Beers, Bill Steers and Queers

Actually, I have no idea who any of Carcass are - They have released an album since 1976 so they are FAR too modern for my tastes…!
