ALBUM DEMOS?

#

Started by ArtfullyDishevelled (Michael McGrath-Bryan)

Does anyone have Therapy? demos or early versions of songs that aren’t readily available on this site (eg. Titanic, or last two album demos)? I have the first two demo tapes and the downloadable demos, as well as the Tango Romeo demo. I’ve seen a demo called I Worship God, and wouldn’t mind hearing it, or any other demo/early incarnation.

I can exchange the Paradiso 2006, Lowlands ‘98 gigs or most B-sides/rarities for them.

As far as I’m aware, nothing has hit the trading circle from the earlier albums. Only the stuff that the lads have made available for download on this site.
Do you have the “Catweazle” 7 track demo (Andy’s old band)? It was made available a while ago on a torrent site, if you don’t have it, it’s worth checking out.

I don’t have the Catweazle (that had an early Unbeliever on it, from what I know) or Evil Priest demo tapes, I’d be interested in them if anyone wants to trade.

I’ve seen demos from Shameless and Semi-Detached do the rounds but couldn’t get a hold of them.

The song I Worship God became Black Eye, Purple Sky, apparently. I also have a live bootleg of a song called Again and Again, which, I’m 99 percent sure is an early incarnation of Stay Happy. I believe Therapy? also tried NANE material on the road before its release. Anyone know if they played Plebians live during this time, or if the songs were different before their release?

Are you sure the Shameless & Semi Detached songs were actually demos? There is a working-mix promo of Semi D that I have - basically almost identical to the finished mix but with the Ian Paisley intro to CON and a few smaller differences in the mix. There are quite a few advance album promos and things, but I haven’t heard of them being actually different recordings/demo’s.

It sounds like the “Some of the Rest” bootleg that you have. Is that one a factory pressed (silver) disk? I’ve never been able to get hold of it. If you’re looking for more info on the following;
“Again & Again” was played on 13/12/95, 28/12/95 & 30/12/95.
“I Worship God” also known as “New Song 2” was played a good few times in the US in 1996.

As for Plebians, I have a vague suspicion that they played this song once in 2004, though I’m really not sure.
Maybe someone else can help you out here…
