Sad news this - especially as he was so young! . Little Angels were the first band I ever went to see live. A Fantastic drummer!

RIP

Fucking hell!

I met him!

True story:

I used to work at the Sony Centre in Birmingham and Lee used to come on and get some of the nice audio gear.
We asked him what he did for a lliving and he (or his missus, can’t remember which) said he was Take That’s accountant! (This was early 90’s when TT were huge.)

As it happened, my colleague is a drummer, and when he went to deliver some of the gear he said “Ah you have a drum kit, I play a bit myself, like..” To which Michael Lee said, “well, actually I don’t like to tell people but I’m actually the drummer for Page and Plant and I just worked on the Echo and the Bunnymen album…”

LOL Why would you say you were Take That’s accountant?!

Never got to the bottom of that one!

Anyways a mate of mine came in not long after and was all starstruck “THAT’S MICHAEL LEE!” :D

Really nice guy, actually. Very quiet, softly spoken. Always very polite and easy to deal with.

Rest In peace, Michael.

I was never a fan of Little Angels, but then again, nothing against them, but I’m sorry to hear this.

Seeing as that my surname is Lee, and I play drums, I’d better watch out… along with John Lee from Feeder, that’s two drummers with the name Lee who have died in dodgy circumstances.

Be careful with bizarre gardening endeavers as well as instances where you might spontaneously combust. Literally dozens die each year! ;-)

‘Otis Lee Crenshaw’ does a tribute to musicians who die in gardening accidents - have you heard it? It’s very moving …

Not at all, it’s a beautiful piece :)

Sorry about the dead drummer. RIP and all that…
