There’s nothing to think about - you know what grades you need, now crack on!! You’re not even guaranteed a career down the pit these days so you need to take it seriously …

That’s true. And if it hadn’t been for the Liberals you might have been down a pit for the last 10 years. I hope you remember that when you are voting ;)

Mum, my predicted grades are A, B, B (in the AS Level), so I’m potientially looking at up to 270 UCAS points.
Thing is, with a lot of work, I can get the A2 B up to an A cause I have that belief and mentality to work now, whereas last year I’d have been happy with 3 C’s

Nah i live too far west, even if the pits were still open i’d be quite far away from them, Instead i’d be gutting fish for a living or working on one of the trawlers or something if this was the olden days.

Little update on my status:
Had the interview for FD in Policing - went well, very well in fact, fly over in 2 weeks for my physical assessment to get into Special Constabulary, which I will do around my course.
I’ve made my final choices, with the FD in Policing as my first choice, and Politics with Criminology at UUJ as my second choice.

which is funny - cause you can get a house in Blackburn (16 miles away) for about 4 grand
(you’d be overpaying by about 3 1/2 grand on that though)

Vey interesting degree Colin - I always wanted to join the UK Borders Agency but instead did a degree in Business Studies which qualified me to do pretty much nothing but I had 4 years of drinking and partying!! ;-) You going to be a Norn Iron police officer or broaden your horizons to further afield?

Nah Grant, I brought a couple of cases over with me!
I was passed all roleplays and stuff but decided to take uni as I’m a bit young for PSNI… need to live a little first ;)
The course I’m on has links with GMP and Merseyside… policing in Liverpool would be interresting to say the least
