I hate to say this but I’m sorry I tuned in to watch the show. I sky+’d it and skipped through to see T?. The sound was absolutely awful - sounded like it had been recorded on a mobile phone. I also thought Alternative Ulster was a shambles. Pretty poor all round to be honest. I can’t see anyone thinking wow! Therapy? after witnessing that. I’m a fan and I couldn’t enjoy it!
Shame really!

Thought it was great. The presenter really big’d T? up by saying without them agreeing to play, the show wouldn’t have gone ahead. High praise!

For me - yeah - it was that bad. The sound on the TV show was really bad. Maybe that didn’t help T? but I’ve heard that track played so much better - so many times in fact! This is all just my opinion. I’ve been to gigs that I thought were shit but the people I was with thought were great! We all hear things differently ;-)
High praise indeed for T? which was great as in NI music terms they are a big deal.

From what I remember he was saying stuff like “get your fucking asses off those fucking seats and give those fuckers listening at home something to talk about” etc… at this point the DJ began talking over it, apologising for Andys language, but you could still hear Andys voice underneath him. Then the sound went back to Andy as he seemed to calm down, only to start saying “fuck” again, and once again the DJ began apologising, until the band actually started playing the song.
Haha that’s actually really amusing, I was a bit concerned it was hateful stuff or whatever!

I thought it was excellent! Sound was pretty ropey but they tore the place apart! I was bouncing around like a mad woman singing at the top of my lungs (don’t think it was appreciated by the wee girls in front of me, they were standing with fingers in their ears!)…

Ahem. On a slightly off-topic but also maybe slightly relevant note, Dennis, I’d asked before about hearing some of your musical endeavours. Any chance or is that a big no-no?

just watched iplayer (cheers for the link make brain noise just), and thought the boys were great… Andy drove the thing with his enthuasism. Sound was not perfect but andy and the band sounded fine. Sound is always a problem with quick turn around short appearance gigs…
Looking forward to the tour as T? look on form…

Umm, hehe, sorry everyone :P Can’t be that bad though, surely! Ours sounded like the guitars were recorded in cardboard boxes and the drums sound like they’re made of paper! But thank you, Dennis :D
On a slightly more on-topic note, I couldn’t actually get past the first Duke Special song on the iplayer, and even that took about 40 minutes to buffer. To say my internet connection is the biggest pile of crap ever would be an understatement!

I know it’ll take hours but have you tried downloading rather than streaming? At least once it’s downloaded it’ll play properly. I liked that Duke Special Bloke. And most of the other bands actually. And Neil Hannon was brilliant. Feck, I really should have gone :(
