Nice job, Evilbeast! ;)

What’s left of my French since college has got me through most of those reviews, but only in a kind of “Um, I THINK that’s what it means…” way, so this translation is most welcome.

Ah thx Dennis :) ,but as I implied on my previous message ,it wasn’t me who translated the whole review : it’s an old school mate of mine, living now in Scotland (so bilinguist he is…) .As far as i’m concerned,I had only done half of the translation and I urged him several times to help me cos it was sometime difficult for me but he seemed to take his time …But on Sunday,he sent me the whole thing and …Weirdly,I found his job better than mine :D .

ah never mind about your french left at college, your mother tongue is the most spread worldwide…And if I could speak English as fluently as you could for sure ;) ,I’d the happiest man on earth.

About this rare good french review about “Crooked Timber”…It sounds promising for me !!!!!!!!!!! :)

Bilingual then, your mate? That’s OK, I won’t judge him. I’ve an open mind. It IS 2009, after all. Each to their own. ;)

Is it a good and efficient “method” according to you,as I know you’re a drummer ;) ? I know that QOTSA did the same thing for “Songs for the Deaf” .

yeah i was wondering about that too, ever since the first diary about recording the album: http://www.therapyquestionmark.co.uk/biography/diary/read.php?diaryid=258

is it the mixing aspect of it or why was this method considered?

Recording the Drums and cymbals seperatly I’ve done a lot for different bands as it helps seperation and gives you cleaner channels with less spill and cleaning up to do in the mixing stage. You just need a really good drummer to pull it off well IMO.

Fuck, Fuck, Fuck! For the moment is difficult to find very good reviews on crooked timber. Nevertheless, i’m sure is a BIG album (previews on amazon are very interesting).

I never pay any attention to reviews some people just don’t know or like the band they are reviewing… and others are closed minded and if the band don’t still sound like their “big single” then they say they have fallen from grace. Bag Kerrang as much as you want they do seem to stand by them and undertsand that they change and review them so.
From what i know its going to be a another classic but probably one that will split peoples opinions as they always do… I do get fucked off people writing off an album or judging it from one song when they haven’t heard the whole thing as it was meant to be heard. Only a few weeks to go :)

sounds logical. gotta try out.
i’ve done it once, “by accident”, which means, i couldn’t pull off the drum part for a demo (i’m a guitarist usually) i wanted to record but i noticed i could do it without the cymbal hits and recorded those afterwards. :) worked good!

Since arriving on the coattails of the grunge explosion in the early ’90s, Therapy? have been ploughing a stubborn furrow, oblivious to public opinion and unmindful of changing fashions. Album number 13, however, finds the Northern Irish rockers strangely in vogue. Crooked Timber is a darker, heavier companion to the FM-friendly alt-rock the nation has been lapping up in recent years. Andy Cairns’ heavily accented vocals take a backseat to crunching guitar riffs and a dense, breakneck rhythm section. Tuneful and hard-hitting, if a little laborious at just under an hour long, Therapy? could be set to profit from the success of such fresh-faced heirs as Biffy Clyro.

that interview with Andy was very impressive: getting older isn´t a easy thing that´s for sure!!! We are not young here anymore and those TG days are far behind. I just luv and luv T? more and more everyday! Therapy? forever and the Crooked Timber will open new doors for T? , I know that: “new people” will see how magnificent this band is now and was in the past the days. There´s much I could say but I cannot write it here cause I cannot in that way that everyone gets me right:( But in short again: thank godness that we still have a band like Therapy? around in this everchanging world. And T? can can change everytime after every record theyve done but still the recordnable T? sound can be heard with new additions. Thats what I can say after hearing Crooked Timber. Long live the almighty T?!!Got me ? or not:)

Motöhead is MH, I luv Lemmy but T? is always diffo, I LUV Andy! I´m the oooooooone , deluuuuuded son! got me? This CT is something I just cannot discribe something very diffo in T? history! Michael´s bass is very, very, very, very…, how can I say it; it kills in a very positive way! just luv it! Strong, strong T? record which will be opening many doors I bet.

I cannot wait for this album, I know andy says when your 16 or 17 you want music like troublegum (or words to that extent unless i misinterpreted what he said) but for me based on what i’ve heared so far I’d take crooked timber over 1000 troublegums any day, I want music that pushed boundries and tries new things, whilst I like listening to ‘simple’ ‘conventional’ music now and then I’d trade it all in for bands that try new things no matter what the result, thats the only way music will ever evolve.

I cant stress enough how when march 23rd comes along if you enjoy crooked timber and what it stands for you should also get the new kylesa album.
