Japan release of Shameless

#

Started by mfgeorge

You can already pre-order the Japan release of Shameless on HMV Japan: http://www.hmv.co.jp/

Although it doesn’t have the track listing I was told from The Boys there will be 2 extra tracks, but I don’t know what they are.

OK, I have nothing against Japanese people, but why are they so goddman luck to receive fuckin’ bonus tracks! Don’t think it is fair.
Why? Are they such bigger fans than us? Because they scream louder at live shows? Because bands don’t tour there that often (which is not the case anymore I think). Or is this a form of discrimination?
Cut that man! I mean, why already pay lots of money and die-hard fans will probably pay for the Japanese release as well. Tsjing! Tsjing! (-Sound of a cash register)…What about an Antartic Release? That would be fuckin’ rare!

I’ve heard the reasoning for Japan getting extra tracks on all their CD’s is because singles are not released over there.

But then again, they’re not really released in Canada either and we don’t get no extra tracks!!!

It’s because cd’s over there cost even more than here. They pay approx. $25 per cd. At least that’s what they told me but it makes sense.

He’s right, they put on bonus tracks becuase they CDs are so expensive in Japan.

They have started doing this in the UK too, because foreign imports would be cheaper but the extra tracks mean UK buyers would want the special UK edition sold at a higher price.

Check Weezer’s Green Album on cd101.com, there are two versions available, the more expensive one being the 11 track UK version, the cheaper being the 10 track European version.

It’s just record companies being w*ankers.

Yeah, right! Here in Holland you’ll pay 40-50 guilders for a new CD. (Dank U - Free Records Shop -ugh). That’s about $18. Looking at the Japanese site I see prices ranging from 2000 to 2500 yen. That’s $18 also! Suck my dick! That’s bullshit!
Anyway, dutch people: Have you seen those nasty Euro transormations at the Free Record Shop. 21.99 or something Euro = 50,xx for a single CD! Fascists! I normally never buy at Free Record Shop but I really had to laugh. And you know the standard 2 CDs for 40 piek! Now it’s 2 CDs for $20 Euro… Haha fuckers! I’m not stupid you know!
Yes, it’s not funny…I cried…

First of all; hey Mathew, welcome to the teethgrinder’s.
Second of all; how can we order via this Japanese website?? I mean, I don’t speak/can’t read Japanese, and that seems to be a huge problem on that website.. Can we avoid these crazy Japanese signs??

Only idiots buy at Free Record. In Belgium you can get a rock cd for 600,- if you show some effort, that’s about $12 I believe. So in Japan prices are higher!

Prices are lower at Free Record Shop Brussels then elsewhere in Belgium. If you buy them when they’re just released, they are cheaper (even < 600 BEF). If you wait a few weeks, the price goes up again. But I don’t like FRS either. I often go to Music Mania or JJ Records. You need some time to find what you’re looking for, but much cheaper indeed.

Hey Gie, thanks for the welcome…

as for ordering on HMV Japan, at the bottom of the site you will find a link that says English Top… that turns (most of) the site into English, enough to make sense of an order at least…

cheers!

You really are a bit of a tosser aren’t you? You say what I said was bullshit but your lame brain can’t even think up a better excuse for Japanese CDs having extra tracks. Fuckwit. The reason is the higher retail price of Japanese CDs, which I gave. Don’t make me smack it into your thick head.

And as for sucking dicks, you are sucking mine every time you post on here in the English language you fool.

He no offense man! I said the prices are just as high here in Holland than in Japan. If I check the prices at hmv.jp and these prices here, they are the same. I just think its not fair.

In Turkey CD’s are about 17.000.000 or 22.000.000 Liras. That means CD’s cost about $14 or $18… The prices change in different shops. For the EP’s or singles… no EP’s and no Singles!!!

Yep, you’re right about that! Japan tried and still tries to blcok foreign goods by charging high rates when goods cross the Japanese border, all this in order to protect their domestic goods. Did you know that they used to allow foreign companies to settle in Japan only when they cooperated with Japanese firms (e.g. Ford and Mazda). This way, the Japanese firm could learn from their foreign partner, and be even more competitive. I don’t know if this is still the case, but this policy has turned Japan into an economic giant, so it kinda justifies why they do it.

You should all read a book called ‘Hit Men’ by Fredric Dannen. It goes into great detail everything that is wrong with the music business…it almost made me want to stop buying music altogether and just send money directly to the artist before I download their music. :b
