Hi. I suffer from depression and social anxiety amongst other things. After a few unsuccessful years with psychologist, I’ve just started sessions with a psychotherapist. Part of my ‘therapy’ is that I have to open up more and learn to speak to people. It was suggested to me that I should try to chat anonymously with someone on the internet, since there’s no way in hell I’m going to strike up a conversation in ‘real life’!

I chose the THERAPY? forum since they have been my favourite band for years, and maybe there is someone with similar thoughts out there who would like an anonymous friend.

Message me if you’re interested.

Welcome to the WoM, DeadEyes - I hope you find someone to chat to privately, but also that you feel comfortable to join in some of the public conversations on here too. You’ve taken an important first step anyway :)

DeadEyes, you are not alone and I started a thread about my problems a few years ago.

Feel free to read them, and ask what you want.

And I’m thinking about you

Seconded.

“Vent Your Spleen” is a good thread to look out for ;) and don’t forget to get involved with the other threads too - let us know what music you’re listening to, books you’re reading, etc etc.

Welcome to the Wall of Mouths.

Welcome DeadEyes - we’re quite the friendly bunch around here. Watch out for the high levels of sarcasm though, it tends to catch new people here off-guard! :-)

Yes, welcome! You’ll like it here, I think. And as noted above, don’t take the snark too seriously. It’s all done in fun. :-)

I’m really not looking forward to it. I’d never planned on living until 30. I just thought something would happen to me before then. I’m dreading them doing something at work. My boss has just turned 50 and they flypostered her apartment building, her street, inside and outside her work and even the restaurant she was going to for dinner! I’ve told them if they even start that crap with me I’m leaving.
I really, really hate attention!

Me too, but you know, sometimes there’s a time and a place for being the centre of attention. And being 30 seems as good an excuse as anything else to get some free cakes and chocolate…?

Hi. My name is Dave. I am a chocoholic. I haven’t had any chocolate for …oooo, *looks at clock*, three hours now.
