And why do you sell your items now if you’ve been looking for them sooooo hard; I’m pretty sure there are better ways to find money. And where did you get them? And when did you get them? And why did you get them? And how much did you pay for them? And how are you?

Hey, and how comes there are so many songs on the demos? I’d never never never never heard about for instance Punctured, Streetcleaner, Any Odds, Last tango, Inside Zorns, Head, Heresyourhammerbrecht, A Sick World Cured, Troutmansback before. And does anyone have these songs??? Or does anyone have ever heard these songs??
Btw, opal, I don’t think it’s totally unfair asking so much money for the 2 tapes. These 2 are sooo much worth, if i would (have them and) ever sell them, i would do the same i guess.. I’m just wondering how much they costed at the first gigs.. And I’m just wondering how the ppl feel that first bought the demos and then taped something over it, because they didn’t just like the songs..

I don’t wanna be a prick Sister, but how can you be sure these are the originals? Unless you bought them from the band of course.
What you do is make a xerox (the original were xeroxes anyway) of the sleeves, look for some old cassettes (since new maxwell tapes) and dub them.
Hell, I could earn a lot of money that way.

This is stupud. Anyone can make such tapes. I mean you can duplicate everything without easy. A high quality photo copy etc…
These songs better me damn good (which probably isn’t). I find myself guilty of a being a crappy bootleg, rare or not. It’s the package that counts. It’s silly.

isn’t Ian supplying teethgrinder.com with the mp3’s of the demos anyway? the price of the demos are already up to $92US each and it still has 9 days to go… seems silly to spend that much money on something that could be a fake…
does anyone know the person selling them?
and what of gie’s (sister) questions about the titles of the songs? i’d like to know more about the discrepancy in the titles as well…

I have the two demos (copies) and the tracklistings are;
Meat Abstract: 1.Multifuck 2.Here Is 3.SWT 4.Punishment Kiss
30 Seconds: 1.Bloody Blue 2.Skyward 3.Body OD 4.Beefheart Albini
I don’t think those other tracks exist, I could be wrong (and if I am I apologise) but if you look closely at the Meat Abstract scan, the ‘strange’ songs would appear to be just part of the titles of the 4 tracks I’ve listed above, cos if you read down on the left, the tracks appear to be Multifuck, Here is, SWT, Punishment Kiss in that order.
Perversonality, are you sure there’s 8 tracks there? Also, with the copies of the demos I have, there doesn’t seem to be any editing involved. And, you have to ask - why would somebody just copy 4 of the songs and not all 8?
If I’m wrong, sorry…I just need to be totally sure about this if I’m to make a bid, especially for that kinda cash. Cheers!

Friends,
I suggest that everybody is careful when dealing with this guy. I believe (I hope I’m wrong) this is the little shit that ripped off several T? fans in the past (including me). Since his nickname is ‘Perversonality’ on Ebay, I think we’re dealing with the guy who originally set up the http://www.perversonality.co.uk website. After trading with several other T? fans (I know Brendon is one of them, but there are also others, right Gie??), this guy just kept everything for himself and never returned his part of the trade. He even refused to answer any mails if you contacted him…
I hope this is not the guy, but I know he had these demos and all of a sudden I can’t track his e-mail address on Ebay nor on here. He also uses another nickname on this site… Very strange if you ask me…
My sincere apologies if the seller is indeed someone else, but if I’m right I just wanted to say that you are an absolute asshole. If I ever have the ‘luck’ to meet you at a T? gig, I’ll beat the shit out of you…
Sorry for all this swearing, but this guy can’t be trusted and his only intention is making as much money as possible…
But once again: if you’re not this person, answer to this topic and disregard my message. I really hope that I’m wrong…

Robby, you could be right - when I went onto ebay and saw that the seller was ‘Perversonality’, alarm bells started ringing in my head. I remember Brendon especially was pissed with this guy (if it’s the same guy) a while back. If this is him, then he truly is an evil fucker and should be avoided like the plague.

Better yet, Ian said he could probably send a copy of the tapes to me, or the mp3’s of the songs on it, so I can put them on the site for everyone to download! Ian, still willing to do this?
By the way, does anyone know who the current high bidder on the two demos is (murre01)?

Alan, I’d like that a lot, and I’m sure the other people on the board will agree! Is it possible that you make a copy of the CD and I pay you the shipping costs and the cost for the CD? If you don’t have a CD-writer, I’ll send it back to you of course. However, if Ian can send me a copy, or the mp3’s themselves that might be a better option for the both of us. Ian, where are you? ;-)
Iris, the story about Perversonality you meant is a thread started by Brendon called ‘Bad Bidder Alert!!’ It can be found here:

I hope we will be able to hear the songs without spending too much money on them. I’m sure Therapy? won’t mind real fans listening to their old demos and I think they will mind people ripping off others for tapes that could be fakes. By the way, in the old Record Collector article, the tapes were set at much lower price than the Meat Abstract 7’, no idea why, maybe also because it’s easy to fake?

The demos are more than 10 years old (if they’re original) so I guess that sound quality could be decent but brilliant? Hmm, I doubt it.
It also depends on the tapes themselves of course.

The demo copies I have are; poor/average for sound quality but very good for sound levels (if you know what I mean?) Basically, they are loud enough to hear without turning the volume up to ‘max’, but there is a lot of hiss. Still, they are good fun to listen to - I didn’t just listen to them once and then put them away. They’re good enough quality to listen to over and over.

Friends,
After investigation I’m pretty sure that this guy is the famous Piers Clinton from the UK. Since the bids are approx. $95 and $145 for the demos, it’s likely that whoever is the highest bidder will send his/her money to Mr Clinton who will then not send the tapes. Other option is that they’ll probably get lost in the mail according to this shithole in England.
So once again: avoid this fucker.
Cheers from Belgium,
