Where to stay in Dublin?

#

Started by Fiona (Fiona Lamont)

Can anyone suggest somewhere decent (and cheap!) to stay in Dublin on 15th May on the night of the T? gig? I’m heading down on my lonesome (husband and friends with no taste)…

Well, the place I’m staying at has no vacancies now - it wasn’t too cheap though, €99 for a double room.

€99 is about right anyway - but thanks for letting me know where you are staying is full!!

Ha ha, I just thought by not replying I would appear rude, since I had mentioned elsewhere that I would be at the gig.

A good hostel is Barnacles I’ve stayed there a good few times when i missed the bus back home and when I’m going to be getting up early to go to the airport, it’s in Templebar which is 5 mins (probbaly less) to the Academy.

Don’t really mind - as long as its not too far from the venue…getting shafted with price because I’m on my own

If you don’t mind sharing with some strangers , The Abraham House in city centre is one of the cheapest hostels around and very cheap.
In a 4 or 6-bed female dorm you’d pay 18 or 25 euro for a night.

Stayed there once or twice , it’s clean and if you don’t share a room with some smelly and drunk anoraks you’d be fine.
Ten minutes walk from the venue.

If you’re really , really stuck we’ll work something out for ya in the Casa , don’t worry.

You’ve got to worry though if that’s the best view they could find to take a picture of!!

Whatever you do stay away from Ashfield House. That’s the only advice I can give you I’m afraid.

my lap top died last night with all my bookmarks and I can’t remember any names. I stayed in a small hotel on grafton st last year. It was grand and not too pricy - can’t remember its name but its just across from the spike. I have to work at 7 am the next morning so I have to drive home again - much better than worrying bout accomodation :(

There’s a thin line between a narrow street and a back alley. There’s also a thin line between the back of a bus and Kirsty Ally, and a fat line between Johnny Cash and Cash In The Attic. And I know because I walk the line.
