Quite glad to hear this, one of those bands that I hadn’t got around to seeing live even though I had opportunities too. I love Burtons voice , a metal vocalist who isn’t afraid to actually sing. Although the last album with Dino was probably their worst , Digimortal.
Demanufacture, Obsolete and Archetype are great albums, the last one Transgression was ok.

Get over it - Demanufacture was an all time great metal album and everything else they have ever done was a half-baked attempt to recapture that glory
I thought Burton C Bell and Dino Cazares hated one another anyway?
In order to make re-unions memorable and profitable you need to have been away for a while and there needs to be a belief that it will be a one shot deal.
Look at Sabbath Vs The Wildhearts - when Sabbath get back together you know its worth seeing because it’s hen’s teeth rare. When the Wildhearts get back together you jest flip the Egg Timer until Ginger’s brain implodes again and they split up for another 6 months.

But isn’t reforming the cool thing to do these days? I suppose it just comes down to how much you like a band, Fear Factory wouldn’t be on the top of my list of bands to reform but it’s welcomed from me as I would like to see them live. Obviously they won’t make a better album than Demanufacture but if all bands just gave up because they can’t make another classic album then we’d have no bands left.

what, cull? its where they “remove” a given amount of a species to keep its population down, or to get rid of some kind of bad trait.
So yeah, there are a few bands out there waaaay past their best that need culling. :D

I’ve just heard about another Reuinion, possibly my most hated band of all time… Creed. I’d sure like to cull them out of this world :D.
Back on topic I’ve only just read through that interview and at least they are saying they would like to make a new album in a different direction. Wether that will happen or not though…

So wait a second - they bring back the guy with whom they had a feud and then sack the drummer and guitarrist / bassist (who basically kept the band going)???
Not sure if I would call this “reforming”…
Will give it a listen mind you, but I must say that this is not really Fear Factory as I see it.

It sounds like Dina and Bell just want to lay claim to the baby they originally conceived, but was eventually fostered by Olde Wobbler(spelling) and Herrara.
They want control! Pure and simple.
It’s probably a safe bet to assume that nothing from the last 2 albums will be heard from this line-up.

Remanufacture is awesome and up there with my all time favourites. Archetype is great too.
Incidentally , Chris Olde Wolbers and Ray Herrera teamed up with two lads from Threat Signal and are having an album out as Arkaea this July.

Used to absolutely love Fear Factory, Demanufacture and Obsolete are great albums. They lost track after that, Digimortal was ok, Archetype was ok and Transgression was shit. But I’ve always bought anything Burton C Bell has been involved in as I think his voice is incredible, I recently got his side project called Ascension of the Watchers and loved it, its a really strange trippy ambient album.
Personally cant wait for this new fear factory lineup, Dino should bring back the heaviness that they lost on recent releases.

Definitely agree with Dino “bringing back the heaviness” - his guitar playing was superior to that of the other guy (even though he also did a good job on Archtype).
Liked Dino’s side project (name has deserted me now).
