What should our first dance be?

#

Started by Jess

As you know me and Gav are getting married next year and we need to choose a song to dance to, what should it be?

Me and the ball and chain had discussed I believe in a thing called love.

Femtex? The masturbation line will go down a treat.

Church of Noise to go down the aisle to?

Forever by the Dropkick Murphys. Romantic, plus you can do a jig to it.

Ok, i feel i need to impose yet more restrictions i’m afraid; it has to be a slow dance as I will be wearing a huge wedding dress and it’s not very easy to move in them.

@ Punkwak we are getting married in June so ‘last christmas’ might not be so appropriate plus it’s a god awful song

The Femtex - masterbation line came blasting out the speakers at my friends engagement party…in the quiet moment right after her dad had given a speech! I nearly peed myself laughing - led to some very nasty looks from the parents etc :-o

I’m getting married in 3 weeks (!) and our first dance is going to be “I’ll be your Mirror” by The Velvet Underground - short and sweet with a nice message, dead easy to dance to as well.

We were going to have “Baby I Love You” by the Ronettes, but after Phil Spector was convicted of murder we thought it might not be appropriate :-/

So anyway, my tip is to pick something short and sweet!

The One and Only by Chesney Hawkes , that song just keeps on giving and giving at every opportunity !

Was at a wedding recently and they started with La Solitudine by Laura Pausini which worked pretty well , especially as the bloke couldn’t dance so they just went for a slow one.

A slow T? song with no swearing or overly negative lyrics…I don’t think you’re going to have a huge choice to be honest

I got married last year and had Hello, by The Cat Empire as our first dance. It was awesome, all trumpets and ska beats, and we did a little pre-arranged salsa dance to it. Highly recommended!

At the end of the party you could play The Boy’s asleep so you don’t have to thank everybody in person!
