WOMble Fantasy Football League 09/10

#

Started by Dermot

Hi all, due to laziness I’m gonna copy my post from last year’s thread for this and just make changes where appropriate ;-)

Yes, there’s 1 month to go. But that just gives us more time to get more entrants than the 24 we had last year!

http://fantasy.premierleague.com/

This is the code you need to join this year’s WOMble league:

175686-46745

You can use the same log in details / password as last year if you have them (eg Dave Judge and Jack Denning were already in this year’s WOMble league before I even reactivated it!)

You can also change your team as much you want before 15th August, when the season starts.

Is it possible to stop Andrew Campbell from getting 3 in a row? What will people do now that a certain player has left Man Utd??

Sign up now to find out!! :-)

My favourite time of the year, football season just around the corner and fantasy football starting again.
If I win for the third season in a row I think I missed my vocation in life, I may even put it down on my C.V. and send a few off to struggling clubs, Luton, Chester, Oh and Newcastle obviously, they give anyone a chance.
I’m off to pick my team.

I’ll be honest, I can’t be bothered this year. I got a bit interested when I was briefly in the top third of the table last season but my absolute ignorance of all matters football showed through and I inevitably ended up mid-table again, just like the first year.

I’m Gobias Industries, also have a t shirt saying Gobias Industries on it. It is the greatest show of all time, i’m obsessed by Arrested development. It pains me to see people who dont understand it. Looking forward to the movie in a year or so.

Oi! What’s this talk about crappy tv-shows? Aren’t we supposed to be discussing my obvious victory this season? ;)

I’ve won it twice in a row, I think that gives me the right to discuss ‘crappy’ tv shows as you put it!
I think if I win it again I should win some sort of prize, 3 times in a row would be my greatest achivement in life, outshining failed exams and poor career choices. A holiday or cash prize would go down well thanks.

If you win again, you get to keep this thread and discuss whatever you like in it :) And I might even admit AD is ok..

But I won’t make the same mistake again as last year when I smugly predicted victory and gave up after a few months due to Newcastle-esque performances from my team of specially selected clowns.

Just made a late entry, was waiting for the majority of transfers to be made before deciding to do a final team, I would have kept choping and changing it otherwise.

I like the added emergency captain thing, should be more helpful.

As in Gobias some coffee - just finished series two, probably not a good thing seen as I’m on study leave from work…
Just finished tweaking the team, aiming for top 4 this year but will fall well short - just like the mighty Spurs

I’m taking it seriously… played my wildcard last week which worked well after a very disappointing start.

A good way to check whether people are actually playing is to check each team’s transfer history - that tells you whether the person is making transfers and how recently they did so etc. Although having said that, I seem to remember Graeme55 doing very well last year or the year before without making a single transfer! Thats what having Ronaldo as captain all season will do for you :-)

Like every other year i’m obsessed with it, my choice of captain week in week out has been letting me down and I’m not doing as well as previous seasons. Only a matter of time until I race to the top though, darren bent has been an inspired choice from week one.
