i thought id give these guys a mention as im really getting into their music, my favourite song by them so far is Way Out of Here on the…Blank Planet album. its a brilliant song and i just love what Richard Barbieri has done with the keyboards, they sound phenomenal!!

i also bought Deadwing and In Absentia today, both of which i aint checked out yet, but i will do soon.

is anyone catching them on the Uk tour near the end of the year? i sure will the way im going with them lol.

I’m a big fan of their music. Lightbulb Sun is probably my favourite album so far.

The sample of their new album on their MySpace sounds good, I’m definitely looking forward to getting that in September… I’d be tempted to go and see them on tour, but money might prevent that, depends how much tickets will be I guess.

Steven Wilson’s solo album is really good too, by the way, if you like slow, melancholy music.

Porcupine Tree rock, even if they are a wee bit pretentious live. ‘In Absentia’s my favourite, with Deadwing coming a close second. Fave track is ‘Arriving Somewhere But Not Here’, it’s bloody amazing!

Really looking forward to the new album - a 55-minute song divided up into movements sounds interesting…

I love the fear of a Blank Planet album. I can listen to Anethetize over and over. The drumming on that song is incredible.

I’ve never heard them. An old friend who’s fav band was Marillion said he liked them so I assumed by association that they would be utter fucking wank.

They’re good. Their early stuff was experimental, prog rock kinda stuff, then they moved more to soft rock, then went a bit metal with the last couple of albums. I’ve enjoyed all their different styles though.

£30+ doesn’t surprise me at all, but sadly, as with Green Day and The Smashing Pumpkins last year, I can’t afford to go :(

£15, or maybe £20 is about my limit for gigs these days.
