försti, that’s bad, bad luck.

But t? will also play in salzburg in november - If I can make it, I’ll be at both gigs (vienna & salzburg).
I hope the vienna show in vienna will be a normal 75min gig though and not a 3 song thing, as the tickets go for only 8 Euros.

hi tom!
do you know where to get pre-sale-tickets for those gigs? do you think jugendinfo has them?

nice social d - reference by the way. :)
(their concert was great, but fuck me, 35euros for a t-shirt? how punk is that?)

glad you got the social d reference ;-) 35 euros for ugly shirts is a bit much, but they’ve got families to feed. I didn’t buy one either tough, because buying their records and paying for the concert ticket is as much as you can squeeze out of me, if the shirts aren’t reasonably priced and ace looking. My girlfriend got the setlist, that’s even better than a shirt. :-)

I haven’t got a clue yet where you can get pre-sale-tickets, I’ll have to look into that. But I don’t think we will be faced with sold out gigs here in austria, it’s not the 90’s anymore ;-)

still pissed that i managed to play a gig with my own band that same day in vienna. but maybe i’ll manage to get from the “chelsea” to the “U4” in time to shake hands with the lads … :) jazzfäst in linz was cool, but i can’t wait to see them headlining in salzburg!!!

well, life’s just so funny … i won tickets for the show in innsbruck! anyone there?
the thing is that i won 4 tickets that would cost 9,— each, but the travel to innsbruck costs me about 60 euros … a mate of mine and myself would be up for it though. we wouldn’t need all the tickets so we maybe could sell them at the venue a little cheaper to get back some of the travel money … any wombles there who need tickets?

really? kind of strange … it’s gonna be an “interesting” audience then.
another friend has tickets for the vienna gig too, but as i said, i play a rival gig with my own band in vienna that night. not that i intended to, but we couldn’t change it last minute.

yes, interesting. I supposed the show would sell out really quick, given the size of the club and the extra low ticket price. Still I hope there will be some fans to have some fun with, I’ll be in the frontrow nonetheless :-)

Vagabond: If I can´t get the tickets, throw me a link for your band, could check you out on Chelsea if I´m gonna miss Therapy?

I’m alive and kicking again, ears still ringing… audience was a mix between fans and people who obviously had never heard of the band and we’re just in the club because they got vip tickets… The boys were in good form and seemed to enjoy the show. so here’s what you all waiting for:

SETLIST

Turn
Our White Noise
Teethgrinder
Enjoy The Struggle
Blacken The Page
I Told You I Was Ill
Fantasy Bag
Stories
Isolation
Crooked Timber
Rust
If It Kills Me
Exiles

Die Laughing
Diane
Nowhere
Screamager

The sound was horrible though. Still I had a great time and grabbed the setlist & a guitar pick, my gf got a drumstick.

about the mystery of the free tickets, there were jack daniels pre-parties at these locations where tickets and goodies were given away:
10.9. SOL Bar - Bad Vöslau (Rock It), 17.9. SHAMROCK - Salzburg, 17.9. CHARLIE P‘S - Wien, 18.9. COFFEE SHOP - Innsbruck, 19.9. OILERS - Haiming

SO, i came back to vienna at 9h in the morning from our trip to innsbruck … hehe, damn cool it was!!! one of my mates had also gotten a jack daniel’s goody, which in our case was a bottle of jack :-), and we had 5 hours on the train, so guess what we did … so we arrived in pretty good shape in innsbruck, wandered around the city for an hour, then headed over to the weekender club. there we met our new tirolian friends ute, alex and andy (?). the club is actually nice, you have a café upstairs and the live venue is downstairs. had a chat with diamond dave, what a nice fella! bought a new crooked timber shirt and then had a few rounds with our friends and watched the support (steaming satellites), i really liked them. a bit of isis-influence but more song-orientated.

the club was also sold out so we made sure we had a spot directly in front of the stage. the lads were in very good form and had fun! it was really cool to be that close to the stage again. the crowd was similar to the vienna-gig i guess, lots of fans but also lots of people who maybe had never heard of the band. in front of the stage there was a nice pit going on during the whole show. the energy-level was great! got neil’s drumstick and setlist, and a hug from mikehell directly from the stage.

Talked to neil and mikehell afterwards and i hope that i didn’t come across as an asshole due to massive drunkeness … ahem … they were of course nice as always. i brought them t-shirts of my band as an “excuse” for playing on the same day in vienna. we had to leave the club at about 2am to catch our train home. this time it was a slower one, we arrived in vienna at 9am but due to the alcohol and the fact that it was night we slept like babies anyway. my body did hurt though when i woke up when we were passing linz … where i’ve seen the lads in july. i must say, i enjoyed the stadium-show in linz very much, but i take a nice little club-gig over big shows anyday. the energy-level is just way more up in a club when the crowd goes berzerk. one of my mates didn’t really know the band before and he was very impressed yesterday! so, we had a great great night, the travel takes it’s toll so i’m off to have a nap now … ;-)

i have some pictures also, crappy cellphone pictures though … but i’ll try to put them up soon.

SETLIST

Blacken The Page
I Told You I Was Ill
Potato Junkie
Stories
Isolation
Crooked Timber

If It Kills Me
Bad excuse for daylight

Nowhere
