What’s everyone never going to listen to again?

#

Started by mrs h

I just heard Thom Yorke’s tribute to Harry Patch, and I’ve never heard such a horrible noise in my life. To be fair I am not a Radiohead fan at all - but even so that was exceptionally horrendous. If anyone wants to sponsor me to swim through an erupting volcano I’ll gladly donate the money but I NEVER want to put my ears (or my stomach) through that again! It certainly couldn’t be defined as music by any reputable source, and something about the combination of noises and ‘vocals’ made me feel physically sick.

RIP Harry - I’m so sorry on behalf of the population of Britain that you might be associated for the rest of history with that awful pile of crap.

Harsh words but yeah, I’d say the same about most of Radiohead (first album excepted). I just found out whoever had my job before me filled the computer with the most dire drivel ever - the music folder overfloweth with Damien Rice and his like, grim times.

Paolo Nutini’s current album. Absolute shite. His voice just grates and the songs are pure dreariness.

Of course, you might say it serves me right for listening to it in the first place, but with my job I have to listen to this kind of rubbish,

I remember hearing a cover album/tribute to The Clash, not too long after I became interested in The Clash. Songs like Hateful which was covered by No Doubt, Gwen Stefani I truly despise your voice, are tainted for me now.

Oh and someone gave me a copy of Chris Cornell’s latest album. It’s fairly putrid.

Oh, Def Leppard. When I was 7 or 8 I used to love them and I bought six albums or so. I stopped listening to them when I was twelve and discovered the Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana. I’ve never looked back.

Although it was pretty distressing one day a few months ago when I was on a bus and I seen two 15 year old metal kids opposite me discussing going to see Def Leppard and Whitesnake. You would think kids would have their fingers on the pulse when it comes to music, but I guess not.

If there is anything by Robbie Williams on , the tv goes on another channel or the radio switched off for a couple of minutes.

All these pop/rnb/boring whiney singers who are covering all these classic songs recently and ruining them can stay away from my ears. Apart from that if anything by Bon Jovi, The smiths/Morrisey and Phil Collins could stay out my way till i die then i would be a happy man.

Sorry mate, i know a lot of people on here hold him in high regard so i wont say my true thoughts… its just a case they are one of the few things i have to turn off when i hear them as i dislike them so much and normally i can find something in most music. :).. oh well guess i’m just missing out.

If the Smiths doesn’t do it for you, you must be one of them folk that had girlfriends during their teenage/ student years, and actually left the house and socialised, that I have read about.

Never met a real one in the flesh before!
