Fucking loved that show! It was the only show I was allowed stay up late for when I was a wee 6 year old. Only recently I was thinking of buying the boxset.
Not too sure what a remake would be like. I think a slick big-budget production could spoil the charm of the cheap-ass original (ala ‘Battlestar Galactica’).

Yes! Was also just a pup but I loved the mini-series (the regular series, not so much). It really pioneered that shot of the huge spaceship ominously hanging out there on the horizon that Independence Day and District 9 used to great such great effect. Lizard Queen Diana was so scary/creepy with her “attitude adjustments…” Thinking a remake is unneccessary and will probably blow monkey balls though. >:-<

Hmmm… apparently, ABC have made 18 episodes of this. 4 have been screened in America so far, but due to poor ratings, they have shelved the rest…looks like the fears of a shite remake have come true.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the first 4 episodes will actually air in the US starting Nov. 3 and then the show will resume a normal schedule after the Olympics end in March. But this sounds like network posturingto me; they probably know the’ve got a really expensive, shit show on their hands already.
