Ever coming back to the US?

I can’t possibly be your last fan in the States - any possibilities of a couple of US dates added to a tour?

Yeah I know how you feel. It’s the same for me with Linkin Park (my first favourite band, I still like them but am nowhere as obsessed with them as I am with Therapy?), who are mostly stuck in America. I’m grateful I live in the country that first came to Andy’s mind when he spoke of ‘the people that have always been very good to us’ :) The US is of course big. I think Therapy? did a US tour around the time of the ‘NANE era’ if you can call it that, but I have no idea how it was received? I read one review that wasn’t too positive (Andy was called a ‘vocals barker’ :-/), though it could just be my interpretation. I’m not sure if America is the right climate for a band like Therapy?, if such a climate even exists on a large scale. I suppose if they have enough succes in Europe they could make it back to America, but they don’t even play their singles here on the radio (I think the last T? song ever played on Studio Brussels was ‘Die Laughing’ when Troublegum ended 54st on their list of best CD’s chosen by the audience of SB. Their fanfuckingtastic gig as main act on Crammerock some time ago also failed to get the attention it deserved from the radio because ‘Laundry Day’ was happening at the same time…) so I guess it’s the same in America. But keep hopin’, maybe start a facebook community or something alike, it worked for our belgian bands Channel Zero and the Clement Peerens Explosition! And those bands weren’t even alive and kicking when they started it out! :)

I’ll trade you Linkin Park for Therapy? any day of any week of any month of any year. :) 90% of the bands I enjoy never get radio airtime in the States and still tour here with good results; granted most of those are from here, but Behemoth (Poland) comes to mind as an EU band that does well touring over here. I’m not talking about giant stadium shows (though EU metal bands do those all the time here), most of the shows I go to are at venues that hold <1000 heads.

You’re right about the mainstream scene over here not being the right climate for T? - but who cares about the mainstream scene. OTOH the chances of any band coming out to the West Coast from EU is pretty slim unless there is a good chance of selling out the dates at larger venues - otherwise just not worth the trip.

Ah well. Guess I’ll have to talk the missus into planning part of a trip over the pond to coincide with somewhere that T? is playing. ;) Until then, I’ll just have to settle for ordering some schwag. :)

I’m sure the band themselves would love to come back to the States too, but as has been mentioned on this forum before, a tour of the US is a huge undertaking which requires a large amount of financing to support. So to be honest, I can’t see it happening soon.

Thanks for the offer of Linkin Park, but you can keep ‘em… :D

Same here, but there’s nothing wrong with liking lesser bands apart from T? :P I don’t care about mainstream either but it does influence the kind of music I like somewhat regardless (like Channel Zero, for those who don’t know them they’re the best Belgian metal band ever, quitting because they didn’t have enough support). I like festivals but guess I’d favour seeing Therapy? indoors more too. Generally smaller crowd, but most of the time more fans. In the AB earlier this year I saw a lot of ‘Live like a fucker’ ‘Die like a motherfucker’ shirts :D

I’m a huge Therapy? fan!!!!!! Several years ago they actualy came to the US for a tour…not sure what album they were supporting but I was so excited to seem finnaly. I even left work early just so I could make it to down town Seattle only to find out the show was cancelled due to an injury their drumer sustained while loading his drums onto the stage!!! So ya Therapy? needs to come back to the US ASAP!!!! They are the one band that I have not seen yet on my list!!!!!! I could so care less if they are huge in the US or mainstream…I just want to see them play live and jam out on some of the best music ever created!…scramager, lonley cryin only, Nowhere!!!!! Die Laughing…teeth grinder…evil elvis…opal mantra…etc etc!!!

Twas only a matter of time before I left my mark in a thread like this ;)

Not just interested if they gonna appear over here soon (I know 2010 looks like another busy year!) but what states they ‘may’ play.

Be nice to know well in advance if thats the case cuz this place is HUUUUUGGGGGGE!

Meantime, I hope I make enough money to come back home and catch a local show.
