The shirt bit was the point at which I decided to leave!

Nice one Simon, I wish more soundmen would do that! Fuck that, you should actually be able to shoot ‘em when the sound is crap.
Regarding the Wildhearts: They might be good, but I hate them with a passion.

**Faster Pussycat at Bradford Rio. My friend used to fancy one of them so we went ‘for a laugh’. Lead singer Taime Downe looked like Marilyn Manson’s grandad and none of the band seemed to be playing the same song at the same time they were so pissed.
**Electric Six in Manchester. Only went for Eureka Machines really but thought I’d stick around. Lasted four songs and decided to go home as it was a school night.
**Wildhearts in Manchester on the T? support only because it was 11.10 when the encore started and I had to get to Piccadilly station by 11.20 for my last train home. God bless black cabs!
**Vixen at Bradford Rio. My boyfriend fancies Girlschool (all of them, I think) who were supporting and were, to be honest, fucking brilliant but Vixen were just too ‘la la laaaaa’ 80s power ballady for me.
**Slipknot at the MEN arena because, after Slayer had finished their set, what was the point in hanging around? To watch 20 blokes in masks bang some drums?
I’m sure there’s many more but I cannot remember…prefer to remember the good ones!

Extreme Noise Terror in the mid early 90’s (only gig to give me a headache but I had been doing way to many whatsits so only myself to blame).
Wildhearts but only really went to see Therapy anyway
Megadeath but was there doing an interview so didn’t pay for the ticket. They were shit.
Little Angels. There for a review of gig for mag so didn’t pay thank fuck
Mr Big. Same, there for review, very bad indeed.
The Alarm. No need to explain
The GLC. Was another freebie but I was supposed to be doing their stage set for their upcoming tour so needed to hang around and couldn’t manage it :-(
Motorhead. Like ‘em but after an hour it just isn’t that good really.
I like this one, Take That. Was there to paint their stage (sad but true). A million quid wasted as far as I could see.
The Fall. Went because I was curious. Left after 45 mins.
Loads more but i forget. The Wonderstuff ring bells but not for being brilliant live I know.

Motorhead when T? supported them in Dublin. The missus took an immediate dislike to them. If they would have brilliant I would have convinced her to stay, but their sound was too loud and muddled, so we left about 30 minutes in.

Pip , maybe you should include the ones where you ended up in the First Aid area before the gig ended ;)

Thinking of it , about 10 years ago I had to leave a Backfire! set at Graspop prematurely once for a visit to the First Aid tent.
Should have listened to the doctor when he strongly advised against a mosh pit / crowd-split 2 weeks after knee ligament surgery…

normally i would watch such a band so i could say i have seen legends do their thing but i think it was the vocals that put me off. Iv heard judas priest of course so i know what to expect but tbh they didn’t rock the tight leather look very well in their mid fifties.

Is crowdsuffing anything like the crowdsurfing we have here across the way? :-)

Suicidal Tendencies on Saturday, not because they were shit but because I thought I was going to vom
Exodus early show with Dukes after Steve Souza left
Anthrax with Belladonna
Have jibbed off plenty of festival bands purely for shiteness;
Cradle of Filth
Tool
Paradise Lost
Kreator
Oh yeah and Gwen Stefani! That was a competition win where I got a free trip to NYC to see Gwen Stefani but I left after 30 minutes and went to the Superbowl of Hardcore in Brooklyn to see Negative Approach instead
