T? fans can you help with some suggestions?

Myself and Neil were talking the other day about getting more details of magazines and DJs in other countries to send the label’s releases to. So we thought about asking you guys on the board to suggest any that you read or listen to outside of the UK. Any suggestions?

The only Belgian magazines I can think of are all too metal minded I guess (http://www.rocktribune.be, http://www.mindview.be), we mainly read magazines from Holland, they’re much more open minded than us :) Up Magazine (http://www.upmagazine.nl) en Oor (http://www.oor.nl), someone from Holland, please help me, I know you’ve got a lot more magazines than that!

Studio Brussel (flanders) and Classic 21 (walloniƫ) are the only (half-) decent radiostations here that pay attention to rock music: http://www.stubru.be and http://www.rtbf.be/classic21

As already mentioned by An , Dutch magazine Oor would be a good bet imo. Used to be a subscriber for years before emigrating , has good reviews of new and upcoming bands.

Also try 3voor12 ( http://3voor12.vpro.nl/index.jsp ) , the music site for the radio / tv station VPRO in Holland. They’re all mad and alternative and into anything there.

That new Irish station Radio Nova could be worth a shot too ( http://www.radionova.ie )

Neil will probably know Paul McLoone from the Undertones personally ( otherwise Andy ? Michael will ) , he has a show on Today FM in Ireland every Monday to Thursday evening 7 to 10.
Has excellent playlists and sure he’ll do the lads a favour and throw in some your bands.

It’s a uk based station, but GMG’s Rock Radio DJ, Tom Russell, could be a handy guy to get in touch with. He’s based in the Glasgow station. I think T? done a Takeover thing with him a while back. He does a weekly thing as well where he airs stuff from new bands.

Not really what you’re looking for, but I guess it couldn’t hurt to get in touch with Bob Biebob, our Belgian metal hero who can get all the great metal bands to come to Belgium : ) He’s also in touch with Stubru (or at least, he was once) since he chose the songs for a metal album with various artists (like Deicide, Savatage, Life Of Agony, Paradise Lost) released by Stubru. I generally don’t like Stubru too much but they’re better than the rest and they at least do 1 hour of metal each week along with an annual list of ‘the best’ 70 metal songs, and pay attention to Graspop.

Have you tried Carrie D on Blast 106 (Northern Ireland).

Carrie has taken pics at a few T? gigs, so I’m sure she’d only be too happy to play something new :)
