Drinks before Dublin gig…

#

Started by Cuchulain

Any wombles meeting up for a pre-gig gargle in the area ? I don’t like the bar in Vicar Street too much anyway.

Thinking of the Thomas House across the street myself. Any takers ?

Not sure how it will pan out, but am sure we would hit one of the local bars in the area before going into the venue. As far as I know, Therapy? his the stage at 8.30.

They’re on at 8:30? Holy shit. I don’t finish work till 6pm, then I’m driving up from Clonmel. I’ll be struggling to get to the gig on time, let alone go for a drink!

You should be grand! Alan.
Sure it’s all motorway to the Naas Ball Thingy.
And city traffic shouldn’t be too bad by the time you’ll get up there.

I think the early start is due to the long set - from what I have read from the other gigs they will pay 2 hours.

Sure! You’ve seen ‘em twice already.

Long set, nice one. Doubt I’ll make it too early, though, just in time for the gig. The joys of parenthood!

Folks,
Our Dublin stagetime has yet to be confirmed. I doubt it it will be 8:30pm(most likely a bit later) as we have La Faro on as well. I will post the info when i have it,

Coola Boola, usually finish at 4pm on a Friday, so will have a few hours to enjoy the local scene before I hit Vicar St.

Hey there, no probs.

Meeting a mate at around 5pm, will try and make our way there for about 7. Want to hit the merch stand, so may head in shortly after 8 or so (hope there will be some Medium sized shirts left!)

Good point, just kind of part of the T? gig experience for me. I like the Troublegum T-Shirt and the one with the album covers. Will probably buy one tonight and order the other online.

The money goes towards the band anyways…

Just back in the door…

Started with Troublegum, then a 5 minutes break, then they played:
Meat Abstract
Nausea
Fantasy Bag
Rust
Punishment Kiss
Die Like A Motherfucker
Exiles
Epilepsy
Stories
Innocent X
Potato Junkie (with sections of Jailbreak, Breaking the Law & Gloria)
Teethgrinder

I think that was it. Highpoints were Femtex, Unrequited & Fantasy Bag, also the lads climbing the speaker stacks during Innocent X.
A very surprising lowpoint was a lifeless version of Punishment Kiss. Otherwise, superb! Ok, time for bed :)

Great gig, the band were in great form and the crowd were digging it. Was great to see some of the more obscure Troublegum songs - Unrequited came of surprisingly good.

What a night. I could see this band a gazillion times and not get bored of it.
Watched it all from an excellent view point on the balcony , jumping around like a young one and not the only one up there either.
Lads in great form and it rubs off on the crowd. Unrequited surprisingly good , great sing-along to Breaking The Law.

On a side note , the one fan standing out watching from above was the dreadlocked rasta dude.
If you’re the same guy that was in Derry last year I truely tip my hat to you , sir. Absolute legend.
Giving it socks every song , and even inbetween songs. :)
Hope to have the privilige of buying you a beer one day.

I think you may mean a dreadlocked rasta girl? At least that’s who was stood in front of me. Had to protect my beer from her dreads. Great that she was loving the gig though, as was I.
