Hello all,
Yep, we’re back in Brum this Halloween with the mighty Skindred and a host of others…best of all due to the good folk at Jager, it’s FREE! Ticket info below…

http://www.o2academybirmingham.co.uk/event/34025/ice-cold-in-birm … ts/Details

Here’s the bumf…

“To apply for tickets from Metal Hammer, text name and email address to ‘ICE COLD’ to 87474 (max 2 tickets per person – over 18s only – subject to availability) (standard network charges apply)

“Jägermeister’s ‘Ice Cold in Birmingham’ event presents a blistering six band line-up featuring Skindred, Therapy?, Rolo Tomassi, Yashin, The Treatment and more at O2 Academy Birmingham on Monday 31st October (Halloween).

Reggae-influenced rock band Skindred will headline this special event in the Midlands. Once described as “one of the most fierce front-men in all of rock”, lead singer Benji Webbe certainly knows how to put on a show.

“This show may be on Halloween but to us its more like Christmas has come early .To get the opportunity to see one of the best live acts in Britain, Therapy?, plus Rolo Tomassi who are awesome, plus Yashin and The Treatment all for free and for us to headline; we cant wait! “ says Skindred drummer Arya Goggin.

Alternative metal legends Therapy? return to O2 Academy Birmingham for an enthralling set of old favourites and brand new material from their forthcoming thirteenth album, ‘A Brief Crack Of Light’, which is due for release in February 2012.

Up and coming Glaswegian post-hardcore band Yashin have proved themselves to be a thrilling live band following their epic Download Festival appearance and a string of sold-out headline shows all over the country. Sheffield’s finest ‘mathcore’ band, Rolo Tomassi are also on the bill and fresh from sets at this summer’s Sonisphere, Tramlines Festival and a European tour. They will be tearing up the stage with an aural assault on the senses.

Five-strong outfit, The Treatment might be tender in years, but the Cambridge rockers will bring their low-slung riffs and some deeply classic grooves to the billing.

All of the bands performing at ‘Ice Cold in Birmingham’ are part of the JägerMusic programme, which supports both new and established signed and unsigned bands from across the UK.

Tickets for Jägermeister ‘Ice Cold in Birmingham’ are FREE and exclusively available from metalhammer.co.uk and classicrock.co.uk from Monday 25th September 2011, max 2 per person – over 18s only. VIP ticket competitions will be running on jagermeister.co.uk”

Oh hello.

Will this be a full set Mike, or slightly restricted due to it being both a free gig and having quite a few bands playing?

I will be there. Anyone else?

Good people,
Apparently there was a problem Metal Hammers end with regard to getting tickets via the text thingy. Am informed that it’s all sorted now so do try again…

Oh yeah, not sure on set length yet, will keep you posted…unlikely to be a 90 minute epic given the set-up/number of acts but we will be cramming as much tuneage as possible,

I’ve not heard anything and texted twice AND entered via Jager website.

Anyone staying in a hotel in Birmingham on this night? I recommend the Mint Hotel or Crowne Plaza - very nice hotels and Crowne Plaza is very close to train station, with both being 2 minutes walk from the road which has loads of bars / clubs

I too entered from a ‘few’ phones but have had nothing back on any of them. I’m guessing the Skindred fans may have beaten us to it!

If only a few T? fans on this board go, reckon Mikehell would be able to sort us out with entry to the gig, if we don’t hear back from tickety stuff?

Another idea would be to get a lot of wombles (who can’t make it along) to txt in and try to win tickets, then that way they can give them to other wombles who ARE able to go but didn’t win tickets.

When my misses tried that evening she got no reply - Fiona did you get a reply like this? I suspect the competition has long closed and the winners have been informed

Folks,
Spoke to the Academy people today(who’ve been very helpful throughout) and they say the Metal Hammer ‘entry’ ends this coming Wednesday so they expect people to be informed about tickets after then. Hope that’s of some help to you all!
