Free gig

Just got this from Totalrock:

——————-
Papa Roach, Feeder and Therapy? will be playing a free show at London’s Brixton Academy on September 5. Doors open at 6pm, and it’s first come, first served.
——————-

Does anyone know the capacity of the Academy?

That’s sounds lika a great gig!!! I just missed Papa Roach when they where playing here. I saw them on TV when they did Pinkpop, the singer doensn’t always sing the right tones, but he’s so full of energy that makes it good. And Therapy? I’ve got nothing more to say about them… 5 september that is already in 4 days…

Doesn’t that sound a bit random? Big venue, 3 big bands, free gig at such short notice. Are you sure this is going ahead? And if it was wouldn’t the people like me, who get Therapy? updates from the official site, have been told about this.

Sounds a tad suss to me.

Strange, but true. Why are they playing a free gig, is it for some kind of charity?

Brixton Academy is pretty big, I saw Nine Inch Nails there and I would guess it has a capacity of 5 or 6 thousand, if the seats downstairs are not in place. It is a converted theatre, and has a sloping floor, which is really weird if you’ve never been there before.

Spoke to Dave last night and Therapy? are doing the gig, and someone else told me its for Japanese TV.

Saw the Wildhearts last night, Therapy? were going to be the special guests but they couldn’t do it, can’t remember why though.

For those going to the free gig, have a good time, and i hope you get in!

The gig rocked! Good sound, but a few shite bands (namely Hefner and Embrace). Gay Dad surprised me - they were actually quite good. Therapy? rocked big time, haven’t seen them live for ages.
