I think the greatest song musically and lyrically T? has ever written has been Heaven’s Gate - ‘I’ve been waiting on a coming waiting so long I wanna be there when all goes off’
another one of my favorites would be Hellbelly just the line ‘jesus without suffering’, Femtex ‘mastribation saved my life’, Disgracelands ‘ET loves LSD’ and Little Tongues First ‘I’m not suicidal I’m just bored’ even though SPYF is not the greatest lyrical triumph of Andy’s career the albumn still carries all the emotion any of T?’s other albumns have. Semi-Detached and Troublegum are in a direct tie with the best overall lyrical content on the albumns.

Yes, good lyrics all, but don’t diss the early stuff, that is still their best shit after all. ‘You need the enemy, you need someone to crush…Fuck democracy do as I say’. When this shit came out nobody had had so much balls in their lyrics since the Sex Pistols.

well, there’s always the discussion in the way that has to define what ‘good’ actually means, but lets skip that part. The line that most hit me is: ‘There’s nothing darker than love that’s gone sour’

I think the phrase ‘While you lead me down dark alleys in the ghettos of your mind’ (Misery) is a really strong one. I read some other great parts mentioned by other people, such as ‘barging into the presence of God’. I’m also really impressed by the opening part of Straight Life: ‘My tongue is twisted form talking, my feet are blistered from walking alone…’ (etc.). Or ‘In your retirement home, watching you wanting to die. This thing has sucked all the dignity from your life…’ (Bad Mother), that’s a great one too. And a last one: ‘You need the enemy, you need someone to crush’ (Animal Bones).
The lyrics are one of the main reasons why I like Therapy?. I listen to the lyrics most of the time, which is kinda why I don’t really like Limp Bizkit, for example. They had a couple of good tracks, but the songs seem to be getting dumber and dumber!

Sorry, Deekoi if we got the lyrics wrongly zpehl-lud or something but English is not my/our native language. Anyway it doesn’t really matter what the real lyrics are, it’s the interpertation of what YOU think it is, because than it gives it a personal feeling/value to it.
I’ve had many lyrics ruined (non T?) because I actually knew what they were saying and thought my feelings fitted better with the song, know what I mean?
Anyway, I think The Manic Street Preachers lyrics are great as well. The Holy Bible is a fuckin’ great record. It’s certainly very over the top, but it fits it well. But Morrissey is with no doubt the best lyricist EVER. In my point of view, no one comes even near in finding such brilliant song-titles and come up with clever, witty, to-the-point lyrics. Briliance!
