Gibson SG

#

Started by Deep Sleep

Is there anyone in Holland who want to sell me a Gibson SG, or a good copy?
Cause i’ve been searching for it very long, maybe i can ask andy.
Gibson SG combined with a Marshall amp is for me the brilliant way to rock

It should be easy to get an SG.. provided you pay big $$$ for it :(
I don’t know about clones, all I ever see is the Les Paul design…
I bet a clever guitar builder could get you the same sound though.

I don’t know if they’re available in Holland, but I know that Epiphone makes some beautiful copies of the SG for much less money. I’ve found the quality to more consistent and the customer service to be better with Epiphone than with Gibson, anyway.

They also make triple humbucker SGs if you’re really looking for that ‘wall of sound’ effect.

try ‘em out:

good luck finding something you like!

Epiphone sucks ass

They are officially endorsed by Gibson which still means you are paying extra €€€ for the name.

Last year I bought a Vintage (=brand name) Les Paul Copy, but they also had a really nice SG copy. I bought my LP for 350 in Boekel (near Eindhoven). If you want a n SG copy, buy an unknown brand.

Oh yeah, my LP kicks the living shit out of any Epiphone. Gibson thats a different story… ;)

The SG looks nicer (like a genuine SG) in reality than on the picture though.

Vintage make really good copies for the money. My friend has one and it’s actually really nice.

I bought a Gibson SG in 1995 and it’s superb… It’ll go to the grave with me! Think it cost around £750. All Gibson prices went up last year by around 15% though I think.

Epiphone is a bit hit and miss in my experience.. Sometimes you get a good one, sometimes you get a bad one. They’re all machine made, so there’s no “human” quality inspection of the parts.

Im buying that vintage sg when i have the money, as its a beaut, it nearly, (not quite but nearly) replicates the gibson sound, so im figuring it would be great for therapy? songs or other punk and stuff.
the one im buying is in the wine sg colour.
theres a genuine early sg on sale in a shop near me for about 1200
