Best Therapy? gig of all time?

#

Started by Flea (Guest)

The first time I ever saw Therapy? still sticks with me big time. It was on their Babyteeth tour in Galway with about two hundred people in a tiny club called Setanta’s. They were so rough, it was brilliant.
Upside down crosses as a backdrop on the stage, the whole bit. At the end of the gig Michael gets up on the kit and pulls a moonie and Andy gives him an almighty smack on the arse with his guitar. Fyfe pushes him off the kit then they all scrap and jump into the crowd. The glory days of T?, no question.

Undoubtedly two most kicking gigs were
1: SFX hall in Dublin with Copshootcop and Kerbdog. That show really kicked ass.
2: For me had to be SunStroke at Dalymount Park when T? blew the Chilli Peppers back to hell !!!
Brilliant

The Attic, Dublin 1996. Therapy?’s first gig with the
new line up in the smallest venue in Ireland. Therapy?
kept falling off the tiny 6 inch high stage into the
crowd so we had to keep pushing them back - unbelievable!
When they started with the heaviest ‘Punishment Kiss’ I’d
ever heard, the crowd went fuckin apeshit!! Then they
played Skyward and by this stage a dozen people had
fallen forward onto the stage…a totally unforgetable
night!

Southampton. Feb 2000. Fantastic show…the support was amazing. Clutch were ok, but the YoYo’s (buy their new album next week) were unbelievably fantastic.. Craig McCormack joined his brother Danny on stage for the last song C’Mon everybody (by Eddie Cochran)

Then…the main event…Therapy? Andy couldn’t finish a song without having dived into the crowd, micropohne ‘n’ all! this was the most amazing show i’ve ever seen…nearly beaten by Coventry Coleseum show..but not quite…you can tell if Therapy? think it’s a good show because in the encore, the set-list goes out of the window and they start taking requests…the night was tipped off by the beand playing my favourite non t? song…I wanna be sedated. by The Ramones.
An unforgettable night. (even though i had seen the band the previous 3 nights on their tour!!)

next week will be the 16th time i’ve seen the band in the space of 9 months.. i love making people jealous.

Bought the Yo-Yo’s album on Saturday. I’m pretty impressed. I mean, OK, come on, some of it is very old skool and whatnot, but it’s a good laugh sort of album. Champagne and Nakedness is a particular favourite at the mo.
