Just Want To Express my disgust at HMV, Not Only Did my favourite independant store not order the 2nd part of I am the money ‘because there was no new tracks on it?’ but HMV wanna charge me £4.99 for a newly released single! C’mon but £5 a single will buy the album in some stores! HMV are a joke… anyone else Agree?

Or try action-records they also have a great 5-track promo for sale… Please do mention ‘Greetings from Iris from Holland’ when you order from them, they are nice and I always get my stuff within the week I ordered from them.

I got the ‘I am the money’ singles today, and I must say - what a rip-off!! A crap demo of ‘Romeo’ which sounds the same except shittier quality, a poor live performance of ‘Bad Karma’, the extended version of the ‘I am the money’ only offers a longer edit, who wants that? In fact, it’s only ‘Fat Camp 2’ that offers anything, and it’s still only a re-working of a song we all have already!! Andy justified not releasing any singles for ‘Suicide Pact’ ‘cos he said they cost fans a lot of money to get all the songs. This is true, but at least before we got the likes of Auto Surgery, Evil Elvis, Our Love Must Die, Suing God etc… now we get crap. Why couldn’t Therapy? release a single 4 track with the extended version, Bad Karma, and Fat Camp 2?
That would save money as we’d only have to buy the one CD. Also, their idea of putting out 2 different European versions sucks too, because in order for me to get everything (I have to, I’m a collector), I have to buy FOUR singles, all with shite songs or songs I have already (the Gimme EP songs) SORT IT OUT, THERAPY?!!!!!!

I really hate the idea of split singles anyway. You can put 74 minutes of music on it dammit! Just make the price a bit higher I don’t care. But when I have to listen to some B-Sides I have to swap the fuckin’ CD after just one/two songs. Know what I mean?
Mmm…still haven’t received the Gimme CDsingle. Damn! Neither the I am the Moneyz.

They have to split the singles on to different CD’s if they wanna release more than 2 B sides. If a single has more than a total of 3 tracks its classed as a mini album, and therefore doesn’t get counted in the charts. This hasn’t always been like this, hence stuff like Shortsharpshock (4 tracks) getting to number 9. But it is now. So there.

I know this. It’s the same reason why bands split songs across only 3 formats (CD, 7’ & cassette / or 2CD’s & 7’) ‘cos anything more, and it wouldn’t get into the singles chart. (If they were allowed to, some bands might put out 10 cd’s with 1 different b-side on each).
As regards Therapy?, lets get serious: ‘I am the money’ will never in a million years get into the UK charts, so why couldn’t they put loads of songs on the one CD, and call it a mini-album? After all, Andy said before that he doesn’t care about chart success. Or, is he getting worried about money now that Therapy? don’t sell as much as they used to and that he now has a child to support???

I haven’t looked at the charts for 5 fuckin’ years (pardon my french). I don’t mind buying singles but I want something worth my money. In the past days singles used to be 3/4x times cheaper than an album. Now I spend more money on 2/3 (sometimes useless) singles than a full CD. And another ‘nice’ thing is when the fuckin’ (i did it again) 2nd version of a single is a rare limited thing. Ahh..damn…

Anyone else here going to the album playback sessions? See you tommorow if anyone is going to the Bristol Bierkeller one…

I agree that HMV are a pile of second hand wank but in my local HMV both singles were £2.99 but no 7 inch.

I think Therapy?s record company are even worse though, like you said about the 2 cds instead of 1 firstly, but also the fact that both gimme gimme gimme and i am the money seemed to be put back week after week after calling into HMV every monday morning. Although it did make it even sweeter when i finally got ‘em…

Sorry but your info is wrong about Iron Maiden.
The reason Bring your Daughter got to number 1 was because. Iron Maiden found out which shops had been selected to be used for the UK charts and told all the fans to buy it from there nearest one.
I was one of them by the way. :p
